Spend a little more and get a better product

First, the bundles do not cover near the advertised square footage and second they are so roughly cut that you'll need a saw to make them look good unless you go fo a 1 or 2 inch reveal on each single.

I tried to buy the same locally on the island and these were much better and longer, and less flaws! I am super happy.

Unusual Use/alternative use

So I didn't use these shingles in the traditional sense. I used them as flower bed edging. I had to cut each piece in two so I have a lot of material left over for another flower bed or for other uses

Newly arrived cedar shingles

I started a project using Lowes cedar shake /shingles about 2 months ago. Despite some bad reviews I bought 14 packs and was pleasantly surprised that the shingles were a higher quality than I expected. After I finished installing those shakes as siding, I returned to Lowes to buy more, to finish the siding. Apparently, Lowes now gets there shingles from another supplier and they are very poor quality and thin. I am very disappointed.

Perfect for Pet Houses

While not rated for roofing, they do seem good enough for adding character to animal houses. We used them on roof panels for our duck and they look great. A few of the shingles had knot holes, but not too many. Now if we could only get the ducks to sleep in the house instead of under it...

Red Cedar Untreated Wood Siding Shingles

Materials are of good quality. Only problem is that all the pieces have a very short width.

Not for home use

These shingles are mixed grade 3 and 4, meaning they weren't made to install on a house. It says right on the packaging "Not for use on occupied buildings. These are only permitted to be installed on storage sheds and detached garages. Don't accidentally think it's okay to install these on a house, because you'll regret it when you have black mold all through your walls.

Great for an number 3 and the price is also very good. If you expect perfect by the #1 grade. Very little wasit.

Roof shingles

Some varied sizes that made fitting the shingles easier. Uniform bevel to the shingles also made it look better finished. No pictures.

Was only in my yard for a few days infested with ants and bugs and worms I took them all back to the store but had ants in my car for days. Glad I didn't put on my house I'd be infested.

Bought these for grilling salmon. Claimed no pesticides, etc, just cedar planks. They are rough, so I just sanded one side down and instant cheap cedar plank. CHEAP. (we grill a lot of salmon). Works GREAT!! You may want to cut the plank so it won't be a LOT bigger than the fish. The extra wood will burn . No big deal - see below. They say soak plank in water for a few hours (I think that does nothing as the plank immediately dries on the grill.) After grill is REALLY hot, put...
