What Customers Are Saying
The reviews present a mixed assessment of the product's quality and suitability. While some found the shingles adequate for certain applications, many reported a high percentage of defective or unusable shingles per bundle, as well as inconsistent thickness and sizing. Concerns were also raised about the product's durability and longevity, especially for roofing use. On the positive side, some noted the shingles had a nice weathered look, but the general consensus is that these are lower-grade shingles requiring extra effort and may not be suitable for primary siding or roofing.

Lots of waste
They'll work in general but you get lots of unusable shingles. As others have said here, plan to buy lots extra. Needed about 1/3 more than expected in total.
Very satisfied lumber order. Very professional and friendly driver

Thirty years later, Lowes is still ready
A father-son project thirty years later made possible by the last bin in the last aisle in the last section. Fragrant cedar siding. "Take me home, country roads," he and I are singing. There's just something about wood singles to help people connect and bring the male poetry out of you. Thrity years ago Son was learning to swing a hammer. Those shingles lasted until he grown with his own children. The family tradition is passed down the line. Hey, it's a play shed. These are siding and I would...

Good quality
I bought these to use as shingles for the roof of an outdoor shower. Worked out great! Longevity may not be that good for a roof. We’ll see. Several shingles had knot holes in them, but since I was using it for a rustique outdoor shower, it didn’t matter to me.

Mostly culls and modest coverage
For the price, I didn't expect premium shakes (they're OK for outdoor sheds, etc), and in fact I think they're just banded culls, but I was disappointed with the coverage. Even at 5' 5/8" vertical spacing, three bundles only covered a 1/2 square. so, plan on 3X price on your budget line for shake coverage. Expensive kindling.

Barely OK.
Lot’s of unusable waste. It’s kind of a shame. Each bundle doesn’t come close to covering as much area as they claim. You’ll likely need to buy 2x or 3x more than you might think.

Not even close
Lowes misrepresents these shingles square feet per bundle. They are telling their customers 50 sq feet bundle. You will get about 15.5 sq feet with a 5.5 refill. They don't count having to double up on the starter roll.
