What Customers Are Saying
The reviews present a mixed assessment of the product's quality and suitability. While some found the shingles adequate for certain applications, many reported a high percentage of defective or unusable shingles per bundle, as well as inconsistent thickness and sizing. Concerns were also raised about the product's durability and longevity, especially for roofing use. On the positive side, some noted the shingles had a nice weathered look, but the general consensus is that these are lower-grade shingles requiring extra effort and may not be suitable for primary siding or roofing.

Would RecommendThis is a good product however its supposed to cover 50 square ft. I was only covering 4ft. x 8 ft. and it wasn't even close I purchased two bundles which should have covered 100 sq.ft. I told the clerk that these bundles were light I was only making a Halloween prop

whatever happened to Lowes quality
Would Not RecommendI was building a porch and planned to cover the roof with cedar shingles. The clerk said 40 piece bundle would cover 50 sq ft. I said no way and since my porch was only 3x24 ft I decided 3 bundles may do the job. NOPE. I used all I had and remembered that I had some leftover shingles from a previous job i did 18 months earlier. So I grabbed them and knew instantly that I had a problem. The new shingles are much thinner, shorter, and nowhere near as wide as the older shingles even though they now...
I really love the look of cedar
Would RecommendUsed the cedar shingles to make an accent wall for the front of my house. Although I ended up getting to different shades of shingles it still looks amazing. My house is the only one that has the accent wall, so it really stands out.

Only 1/4 to 1/3 Useful
Not a good purchase. Most were either split, splitting, or full of knot holes. Out of two (2) full bundles, barely was able to cover the top of one (1) bee hive.

Save receipts for when you return cause you will
Would Not Recommend60-70% wasn’t usable, either had holes or broke edges

Nice texture to the exterior siding.
Would RecommendThe finished coverage is about 15-20 sf per bundle. I overlapped the shingles with about 7 to 7 1/2 inches exposed. The listing stated the coverage was 50 sf per pack.... I suppose if you lay them flat without overlapping, you might cover 50 sf of surface. The packs were somewhat weathered from laying around in the store but at least one of the sides was good enough to use.

You’ll need extra
Too many unusable shingles. Big notches on exposed areas. Had to have an extra bundle just to finish a small siding project.

Very Thin
Would Not RecommendThis product came in very thin. Had a lot of broken shingles & frayed ends. Out of 8 bundles 20% was unusable.

Number 3 Grade Shingles
The manufacturer tag that came with the bundle of shingles I purchased described them as "Number 3 Grade Western Red Cedar Shingles". They were made in Canada. The tag specifically said, "This product is NOT to be used as Roofing for Inhabited Dwellings" and "Perfect for Cedar Plank BBQ". I think this provides clear guidance of the intended use for these shingles. I bought them as a starter course under the Number 1 Grade shingles for my siding. For this use they are adequate and economical. T...
Does not cover 50 square feet as stated on the web
Would RecommendDescription on website state 50 square feet of coverage. Closer tho 25 square feet. Increased the cost of my project exponentially, especially with the already high price due to the economy.

Poor quality
Would Not RecommendThe quality is poor. There are some acceptable shingles in the pack (usually the most visible) but I would say about half are so poor that they can not be used. Note that this is already accepting that these shingle are not 'house roofing grade'. I used them to roof a small gazebo, which worked well once I rejected the flaking, knotted, worm holed shingles. Also some of the packs are reconstituted 'rejects' with a concentration of substandard shingles which have been returned. The rejects es...
