Used this on our back porch and tuned out beautiful. Plan to put on the front of our house now.

great for sheds

Used these for the siding on a backyard shed. Work great, expect about 10-15% waste per bundle due to knots, splits or odd size and cut. Price was very fair in comparison to the ‘premium’ shakes used for true houses. Used a 2 inch 18 guage nail gun, did not have any split or detach from the shed and its been over a year since install. Highly recommend a sealer or stain as soon as possible following install. Overall very pleased with the final result.

I wish you cared the white Cedar also. I wish it was a little cheaper 35.$ a bundle I purchased 6 bundles and it still is not enough to cover what I want to cover 227.first 6 bundles

Lowes and cedar

The worst crap I've ever had to deal with in over 40 years of carpentry !!! One brand of shingles was absolute garbage(mulch). The other brand was acceptable with an average amount of culls,BUT apparently Lowes or cross country truckers are totally unaware that if you leave lumber out in the rain,it will take on water. I had to deal with moisture readings of above 40% in the center of the bundles.

Mixed Quality

I bought these shingles last fall and the wood quality was very good. Square, minimum knots, etc. Bought again this spring and the edges were not square, there were many knots, probably 10% unusable. Seemed like there was fir mixed with the cedar, but was useable for my application.

Not happy

These are very low grade shingles (if not rejects). A large number of them are unusable due to imperfections like large holes. They also suffered cupping and warping almost immediately after I had them mounted. Additionally, they are not square, so I needed to spend an inordinate amount of time to saw them that way. Finally, I gave up on them, returned several bundles and bought square #2 shingles from another source. I should've read the reviews before buying. I DO NOT recommend.

Not that great

These shingles are full of knots, alot had holes in the middle, they were not easy to work with. I get in bundles of natural wood products you will get a certain amount of waste or not straight cuts etc but there were an exceptional amount in these bundles. I managed to finish what I need to do with what I bought because it was a small area of coverage but I wood not recommend these cedar bundles.

Perfect for accent on front of house!

We used these for an accent on the front of our house! Beautiful red color and looked great!

I sided the wall facing my deck. Used an air nailer and ran nails 7” up from bottom, with 6” exposure. The nails go inho the dhigle below and hit a stud once in a while. You get a solid mass when done. Forget the glue! For the price get choosy and toss out bad ones! Dont cry little boy!

Very easy to work with. Comes in different sixes which makes it look very nice when putting it on a wall.

wood shed

I used a 7 inch lap. Used about 12 bundles to cover approx. 280 sq ft. A number of the shingles were not even close to square ( not meant to be square, but.....). I had one bundle that about 1/4 were useless because of termite damage. A number of them had knot holes in the part that was to be exposed. Probably about 85% were ok. Would be nice if Lowes carried the needed nails (5D galvanized). Time consuming to install, but I didn't mind.

A lot of bad material is in each bundle. I was charged a $99 delivery without the option of having them delivered to the store for pickup. There is supposed to be 25 square in each bundle but once the bad pieces are removed you are limited on how much area you can cover with a good looking product. It will definitely give you a rustic look, if that is what you are going for this is the product for you.
