Very shallow interior space.

This is a very elegant unit, and I've had no issues with the performance. But I assumed that since the exterior was the same size as my old unit, the storage space would also be the same. Shockingly, the Cafe holds 1/3 less in the drawers and main shelves than my old Samsung! I didn't know this due to purchasing online without actually seeing one in person. Product has great features.

This is the second Cafe Refrigerator we have purchased and it was recently installed.

The freezer doesn’t stay closed! Poor design.

While this is a very attractive refrigerator and seemingly works well, the freezer door often doesn’t close well. We regularly come back to it and the freezer door is slightly ajar. If it was left open overnight, we’ve had to throw food away that has thawed and might not be safe to eat any longer. It has big a huge problem. It’s been a horrible purchase. We will not buy another GE fridge.

Horrible quality!

Poor quality- Repaired 4 times in first 3 years; Water system in fridge has required repairs over 4 times in 3 years of ownership! Would not recommend. Water Pump dies; ice maker malfunctions. Definitely disappointed in this purchase and selection of appliance for our new home.

We have this refrigerator since 2019, it works well, we just keep changing the water filetr.

Very happy with our Cafe Refrigerator. Looks great. Like the easy to use buttons on the indoor water/ice dispenser. Good storage bins, adjustable shelves. Ice storage is small.

DISCOLORED CAFE

Just received my new refrigerator today. The freezer door CAFE handle symbol is discolored.

I just received my new GE CAFE refrigerator and the cafe symbol on the freezer door handle is damaged. Some of the color is off.

You won’t get this unwrapped

Overall this will be a suitable unit. I am perplexed on the approach GE has taken with the wrapping of this unit. It is virtually impossible to remove the protective film and this creates an aesthetic that doesn’t match the brand promise and basic customer expectations. This was something that has been very frustrating and event the company we purchased it from stated it is a known issue that Cafe and GE don’t seem to have any interest solving.

Not a great start to ownership

Not thrilled as the freezer drawer seems to be out of alignment. We also have frost on the freezer door.

Refrigerator hums when the compressor is running. in addition, we were not aware that the sides of the refrigerator are not white, but gray.

Attractive and spacious

More spacious than I thought it would be, especially compared to our old side by side. The brushed stainless doesn’t hold fingerprints and is very attractive with our dark wood cabinets. I do wish the doors opened a little bit wider to remove bulky things.
