Very Nice

We love the look and storage capacity for smaller refrigerator. The only minor issue is that the ice maker is relatively slow to replenish ice and the ice container is not very large so running out quickly is a real possibility.

Buy warranty, doesn't last 5 years

This is my second fridge. Unfortunately our last one died in less than 5 years. Luckily we had a warranty from the place we bought it. It's way too expensive to die after less than 5 years. We bought the warranty on the replacement too, because I don't trust it won't die either.

Most Expensive/Worst Refrigerator Ever....

There's a part of me that's so sad seeing so many people love this fridge. I loved it too, until it started failing. We bought it in 2018, and almost immediately started having trouble with it. The water hose was leaking (which was an especially hard blow because it was replacing a fridge that leaked). We've paid over the years to update the warranty and have had 4 service calls in those years, only some of which were covered by the warranty. I've probably spent 800-1000$ servicing this refr...

Beautiful Refrigator/Freezer

I love my french door GE Cafe refrigator/freezer. It is a beautiful piece of my kitchen.

Best water on door because it's high enough

the first one I received was a nightmare and they reordered it for me. I received it 2 weeks later and I do like it however don't like that they did set it up for me. my husband out of town so I waited 2 days for him to come home. don't like I can't get the blue wrapping of around the water dispenser. still working on it but don' t want to scratch it.

Nice unit

Our old refrigerator was failing quickly. This was the largest unit that fit the space. It is easy to use and spacious.

Thoughtful design

Really like the small drop down shelf for temporarilary storing small items great idea. The no drip water dispenser is wonderful.

Problem with ice machine area of our Cafe

Very difficult to open the ice compartment and ice continues to clump ice in big balls

GE’s TOP brand????

This is absolutely positively the worst client I have ever owned. It cost a lot of money so we expected it to be top quality we were wrong. Thankfully, we had the warranty on it which covered the first 10 repairs. It is now out of warranty and we are facing a bill for another repair. I am confident at the repair rate if we do not have the warranty we probably would’ve close to exceeded the original cost of the refrigerator and repair repairs.

Love the Space

I had a same size refrigerator and replaced with the Cafe. This seems bigger because of the configuration, especially the freezer.

Water dispenser

The water dispenser just dribbles out. It is basically useless.

Beautiful!

We love our new cafe refrigerator. Not only is it beautiful, but the ice maker on the door leaves plenty of room for all our provisions. The hot water feature is a bonus.

Terrible quality, doors hard to close

Terrible product. Poor quality and many annoyances, the worst being that the doors are difficult to close. Normally you just gently push a refrigerator door and it auto closes, but this fridge requires a ton of force to close the doors. It is annoying beyond belief.

Features average when considering the price tag

Love the placement of the water filter. Not impressed with the hot water dispenser - everyone has a microwave - why wait for the water to heat within a refrigerator? What would be helpful is an option to turn up the water dispenser temperature to room temperature - sometimes I do not water cold water. Ice dispenser operation and size just right IMO. Shelf placement options are limited - Whirlpool has better. Didn't try connectivity yet - don't see the point of complicating my life even further ...

Wi-Fi

Very nice wi-fi connection to my smart phone. Quick cool down from installation date.

Miss the Keurig

It’s ok.

It’s ok. The doors don’t close very easily. They get stuck open as I am closing them and so I have to go back and literally push them closed. Very inconvenient. The Cafe we had before this one also had the drawer in the fridge light up different colors for meat or veggies. That was cool. I miss that. The freezer drawer is also difficult to store things in with the slant of the it in the front.

Blue plastic nightmare.

Overall, The refrigerator and freezer perform well. I don’t use the connectivity feature, but it’s nice to have. When we received our new refrigerator, we had to carefully remove the blue plastic covering all metallic surfaces. It was impossible to remove all of the blue plastic as it was stuck in all of the metal joint surfaces. It took me 8 hours to meticulously pull out the blue plastic from these joints. I had to actually use toothpicks and dental floss picks and thin needles with a hammer t...
