Terrible quality, doors hard to close

Terrible product. Poor quality and many annoyances, the worst being that the doors are difficult to close. Normally you just gently push a refrigerator door and it auto closes, but this fridge requires a ton of force to close the doors. It is annoying beyond belief.

Features average when considering the price tag

Love the placement of the water filter. Not impressed with the hot water dispenser - everyone has a microwave - why wait for the water to heat within a refrigerator? What would be helpful is an option to turn up the water dispenser temperature to room temperature - sometimes I do not water cold water. Ice dispenser operation and size just right IMO. Shelf placement options are limited - Whirlpool has better. Didn't try connectivity yet - don't see the point of complicating my life even further ...

Blue plastic nightmare.

Overall, The refrigerator and freezer perform well. I don’t use the connectivity feature, but it’s nice to have. When we received our new refrigerator, we had to carefully remove the blue plastic covering all metallic surfaces. It was impossible to remove all of the blue plastic as it was stuck in all of the metal joint surfaces. It took me 8 hours to meticulously pull out the blue plastic from these joints. It’s ok.

It’s ok. The doors don’t close very easily. They get stuck open as I am closing them and so I have to go back and literally push them closed. Very inconvenient. The Cafe we had before this one also had the drawer in the fridge light up different colors for meat or veggies. That was cool. I miss that. The freezer drawer is also difficult to store things in with the slant of the it in the front.

Avoid GE appliances

We have had our cafe refrigerator for three years. The filters come on an auto ship for replacement. Our last set had two faulty filters which is about $100 in filters. When I called to say they were faulty GE told me they were out of warranty even though they send a 3 pack that is replaced every 6 months. When I said that is ridiculous they told me well you don’t have to buy 3 at a time. Horrible customer service and as soon as this refrigerator breaks we will be switching brands.

Used to Love GE, now, they are a disappointment

Great fridge. Useful tech. Runs quietly.

I really enjoy the hot water feature; no need for a tea kettle anymore. It could be slightly wider, as there’s a bit too much gap on either side. I prefer it to be wider and shallower. Overall, I like the design, and the interior layout is well done. Excellent filtration. Runs quietly.

Does not cool down enough, Temp off by +5° #2

I have done more testing on the refrigerator cooling cycle. The new Café refrigerator I have purchased has a cooling problem. I have compared it to my previous refrigerator made in 2001. I set the Café at 34° but it will always heat up to near or above 40° (See Graph) It appears that the temperature differential (the difference between when the unit stops cooling and then re-starts) is 8°. Waste Of Money, too short of lifespan.

We do not have a GE service tech in our area so basically no warranty coverage. They should not be allowed to sell appliances where they will not warranty them.
