This mouse trap does not work

The only thing that this trap worked was to catch my hand in it when I was testing it to see if it is working. Until now the peanut butter was all eaten by the rats but I haven't seen any caught in this trap. I caught one rat yesterday and another one today using the Rat Snap Trap, so that one actually works, now I have to go and buy some other ones because I don't reuse them.

Extremely difficult to set

Wish I had reviewed prior to purchase. I spent More time trying to set trap than rats do eating The food. Not 1 rat. Apparently not all traps are the same.

Go get Victor paddle traps

TL;DR: Get Victor M326 traps -- don't bother with these. First time dealing with a rat problem and boy have I learned a lot. I started out with four of these tomcat traps and they haven't caught a thing. I've had three instances of triggered without a catch and five instances of stolen bait (peanut butter). Don't waste your money

The poison finally worked after a week. I coated the bait strip with peanut butter an it actually cleanly licked it off without tripping it.. it got cheese off with out tripping it , but the corker was last night when it was nearly dead i went to the kitchen and it was sitting on the trap licking peanut butter off again, I scared it and it hid but this morning it was dead. I wish I could have videoed it and put it on you tube, it would have gone viral LOL.

CHEAPCAT TRAPS

the only reason i bought them is because LOWES DOES NOT SELL VICTOR TRAPS , i think they make the CHEAPCAT traps with old coat hangars.JUNK DO NOT BUY !!!!!!!

Sadly disappointed

We've gone through 2 traps only to find them still set without the bait. We've used peanut butter only to find it licked clean, with chew marks all around. I've started to use cheese and it's completely gone, no evidence of it. Our rodent is getting very brave because within minutes of putting the trap down, the bait is gone and trap is still set. It's like we have a large dining plate for the rat. Might as well set up a bed for him, too.

Poor quality

1st day Set up 6 traps with TOMCAT ATTRACTANT gel for 1 night and nothing happens 2nd day set up 6 traps with peanut butter and next morning the peanut butter disappear 3rd day I use dog food and use gluegun to hold on place The mechanism works but the springs are very weak and the rats escape (maybe laughng at this brand) I wasted time and little money

Doesn't work

I have a flat roof and have learned that poison is not an option. They seem to all die in the ceiling and cause weeks worth of bad smells. I bought 2 2packs of these baited and set them. The next morning, the bait was gone and the traps were still set. Tried to adjust them and still losing the peanut butter. I could not find a customer service contact on the website.

THIS TRAP SUCKS!!!!!!!

It Would be more accurate to label them rat feeding stations. Bought the product last week been putting them out every night. Every morning I find my bait gone and a huge pile of droppings surrounding the trap. This morning there were droppings on the trap itself right under the trigger. Like the rat was just hanging out partying on the thing. On the bright side the trap provides a great place for single rats to meet other single rats. With free refreshments! Oh wait I'm making the problem worse...

Rats love the free food

Purchased the trap a couple of weeks ago, and have been giving the rats a feast since. We are using peanut butter and for some reason the trap isn't sensitive enough to spring. I found from these reviews that others are having the same problem. The way the bar attaches to the spring holder seems odd. This may be the problem. Hopefully someone from the Company will contact me with a solution, I'll wait and see

Sometimes tricky, but effective

Strong spring. I've got 5 big rats at this point. Trap is difficult to arm with a hair trigger so make sure bait needs to be pulled from trap. I shove sunflower seeds in bait area so they require force from the animal to remove. This thing killed 2 giant rats over the last two days. Setting trap takes getting used to.

Traps will not trip.

As with so many other reviews, these traps are nothing more than dinner plates for rats and mice. I use these alongside a competitors traps, which kill several rodents every week. These traps have never tripped, yet the bait is gone every night.

it worked

We placed 2 traps with crushed aluminum foil. The next day we found the little thing with its' back broken. Poison and peanut butter did not work. the shiny stuff did. And, it is reusable if we need to use it again - just use pliers to open the trap to "empty" it.

Poorly Designed

I would not have purchased if I had read these reviews first, but at least I am not out a lot of money. These traps are poorly designed. The arming mechanism oddly shaped and doesn't work well.

Garbage

10 traps licked clean. Used pliers to bend the trigger mechanism to try to make it more sensitive to Rats. Then 10 traps, several licked clean and several self deployed. So far, we have killed two rats out of several nights of setting 10 traps. Our terrier has killed three. Bottom line is these traps are horrible and do not work. Take your money and flush it before buying these.

this trap does not work

Bought 5 traps and all of the traps set were licked clean. I rebaited them and again were licked clean. I had two old Victor rat traps that caught 7 rats while these tomcat traps were getting licked clean. When I set the trap off to rrebait them the springs would come undone and had to be reset also.

Rats love this trap because it doesn't work

Rats get free food. 3 times now in 24 hours the rats have clean off the peanut butter.

rats lick it clean and survive

We are having the same problem as everyone else. Rats lick it clean and no rats are caught. Both traps started with peanut butter last night and the rats had a feast.
