Great Chipmonk trap

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received my Tomcat Rat Trap a few weeks ago. I do not have any Rats however I do have a bunch of Chipmonks. They are cute little creatures but are very destructive. These traps work very well for eliminating the chipmonks. I use peanut butter and bird seed. It didn't take long to decrease my chipmonk population.

This rat trap is so easy to use.

Tomcat Rat Traps are a necessity!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] In my area we get large Norwegian rats that can cause a lot of damage. The Tomcat Rat Traps are simple but very efficient in keeping my garage rat free!

Best Trap

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We prefer the wooden traps and this one is excellent. We live in an area that has lots of wooded areas and a little outside of town. We do have issues at times with rats outside only.. These traps are great to put out in the yard in areas that the dog does not get into.

Great Rat trap

Great basic affordable mousetrap

If you are worried about seeing the end results, then this product may not be for you. If you don't want to spend much, and you want something that is tried and tested, this is your trap.

A rat trap is a rat trap

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The quality is pretty good, i use the mouse traps and they are decent. Watch your fingers loading this trap. Its loaded and ready... I just have to wait.

Did not work for us

Our cat brought home a "present" the other night. I set out a Tomcat Secure-Kill and bought several Tomcat wooden Rat Traps. The rat licked the triggers clean of all the sticky peanut butter on the wooden traps. Fortunately the Secure-Kill worked. Don't waste your money on the wooden traps.

Kills rats but not the usual way

First rat crawled out of the trap squealing and got away because only the tail got stuck in it. The next time it killed two rats at the same time but neither rat was stuck in the trap (both rats lay dead next to it). The same thing happened again, the trap killed another rat and it was laying very dead next to the trap. Although the traps did not catch the rats the way they were supposed to, (perhaps my rats were too big for the traps) they are very effective rat killers.

this product could be better

i bought 4 of these and was only able to set 2 of them and the 2 that i was able to set went off about 45 minutes later and nothing had touched them....no marks in the peanut butter. i tried for 15 minutes to set these traps and no luck. should have stayed with the traps i normally use. probably why the store was out of stock.

Never gets triggered..

Terrible product. Peanut butter gets licked clean every time and trap never gets triggered. Yes, it's set correctly. Will never buy this Tom cat brand again.. garbage.
