What Customers Are Saying
The Gerber Dime is a compact multi-tool with a sharp knife blade, useful package opener, and functional pliers and scissors. Many users praise its overall design, portability, and variety of features. However, some report quality issues with the pliers, scissors, and file. Despite these drawbacks, the majority of customers find the Dime to be a handy and affordable everyday carry tool for light-duty tasks.

This is a great micro multitool. The wires cutters don't work (as would be expected ; it's tiny) and some of the tools are so tight that I need to use a coin or other tool to open them. However, those inconveniences aside, the tools themselves work well and the product is solid. Additionally, I think the package opener is stupid and unnecessary and can't figure out why it's included.

Disappointed
I have carried a pocket tool for many years and I wanted to replaced mine so I bought the Dime. Unfortunately the handles collapsed the first time I used them. Don't waste your money.

Excellent
Excellent tool as long as you keep your expectations in check. This is a light duty tool that can do some medium duty work in a pinch if you are careful. Knife is sharp out of the box, package opener works great and doubles as an orange peeler, other tools work fine for light work. This is an essential addition to my keychain.

Great utility tool that' I've had for years and give out as gifts. However, Gerber needs to drop the scissors and replace with a can opener.

flimsy scissor
i wished for a small and light multi-tool. be careful what you wish for. the dime was too light. the scissor handle broke off after only a few uses.

awful fragile
Second one that I've had break mid task...first one while undoing a nut, and second one just cutting ordinary paracord. Not with extraordinary pressure being applied either. To add to the aggravation, warranty service requires a form be filled on, printed out, and then sent in with the tool...and since it is in flash, my devices won't always let me fill it out!

Good Multi tool
I have had this tool for 2 month. It does everything I need it to. They really stand behind their warranty,I broke it on the first day I had it and they sent me a new one in about two weeks later. Definitely will be buying more.

Cheaply made
Went to use the pliers and the arm hyperextended which made them useless. The knife also came very dull. Loved the design but not a quality product.

The plier jaw broke off while tring to pry open a coat hanger. Expected it to be roburst enough to take on a task of this nature. Haven't had a problem with the blade though.

Good try
I loved this tool and believed it was going to be the perfect pocket knife for me. And it was, for about a month, then a piece broke and the knife failed. Berber designs great products but the quality materials seem to be a problem.

Boy Scout Leader
I had a small Gerber multi-tool for about three years and loved it. Worked great on Philmont Trek. Unfortunately, I lost it last summer. I bought the Dime because of the size and package blade. It has been a pretty good knife and I show it to the scouts as an example of a good knife multi-tool. Unfortunately at summer camp I was doing some light whittling and the support piece for the knife blade broke off. Now the blade is pretty worthless, since there is nothing to hold it from folding backwar...

Overall a very good little mulitool. The package opener and the knife were pretty dull but once sharpened they were great. the scissors could barely cut paper and you can really get in between them to sharpen them, but is use this tool everyday and its always on me.

Disappointing
Weak scissors and one side of the pliers broke on first use (and took a chunk out of my hand as well)! I know this is a lightweight tool, but I expected more from a Gerber.

Mr.
I just got this Dime Tool yesterday for my birthday and when I went to open a stuck super glue bottle with it, one of the pliers jaws snapped right off. Just like the Mr. Aaron's report. Would not buy again. The metal is way too brittle and thin and possibly not heat treated correctly; bad combination. Sad too, because I like the design and color options, although the color seems to wear pretty quick (had it in my pocket with my keys and it is already flaking off). Bottom line, would not recomme...

I agree with Dime owner / user... this tool could use a tin can opener. A bottle can be opened with a common BIC lighter or any other plastic pry tool... otherwise, a very nice pocket tool. Nice bang for the buck! I own several GerberGear knives/tools and they are simply awesome.
