Not thrilled.

Doesn't handle peak loads well. I purchased one after 15 hours it began leaking oil. This one did the job I had bought it for. I returned it for two more which would not carry the load. I switched brands.

Circuit Breakers Too Small.

Would Not Recommend

I purchased this product to run a specific piece of equipment that draws 17 amps, which is just over 2,000 watts. A 3,300 watt generator should be able to run a 2,000 watt piece of equipment. When I got home I never even unloaded the generator out of the truck. I noticed that it had two output circuits. One circuit has two 5-20R outlets on a 14 Amp breaker. The other circuit is the 30 Amp twist lock receptacle. This one is also on a 14 amp breaker. No matter which outlet you use the maximu...

No enough power for my RV

Would Recommend

This generator is great for small jobs. But it does not have enough power for my RV. It barely runs the air conditioner what does not have enough power 2 make my air conditioner run cold. When I turned on the TV in the RV the breaker blew on the generator. 3300 running watts is not enough to power a 13.5 BTU air conditioner. Need to get something a little bigger something with 4000 or 4500 lots of continuous running power. I will be returning this generator back to Lowes.

Keep Looking

Would Not Recommend

Bought the GP3300. Right out of box the hour meter read 650 hours. Interesting. Finally had time to take that one back and get a "new" one and this one will not generate power. Generac customer service was a waste of time.

Unexperienced people who return things!!!

Would Recommend

I purchased this unit after someone returned it because it was smoking and leaking oil. I asked the Lowe's associate if I could look at it before I purchased. What I noticed, was that this person who did not have a basic understanding of how a small 4stroke motor functioned, put 3.5gl of 2cycle premix in the tank. The person also overfilled the oil reservoir. I took the unit home, where my 5yr old son and I drained the fuel and oil. We flushed the fuel lines and blew residuals out of the carb. W...

Too Big/Too Small

Would Not Recommend

This is a decent machine, we just picked the wrong size ... too small for a storm back up machine and too big for a camping/tail gate machine unless you are supporting a scout jamboree!

Purchased for my travel trailer

Would Not Recommend

After purchasing this unit to run the AC on my travel trailer, I, like everyone else was mislead by the advertising on this. It will NOT run your AC. My AC has a startup requirement of 2750 watts, and run of 1250. By the advertisement and specs on this unit, it should be well more than required to run my AC. Nope!!! Within 2 minutes of running only the AC, it will trip the circuit breaker. I will be returning this unit and purchasing a different manufacturer altogether! I have always heard Gener...

Great Investment

Would Recommend

This baby ran flawlessly in 7/8 tank of fuel for nine straight hours. More than enough power to maintain a large fridge, 3 fans and a microwave oven running during a power outage that lasted about 12 hours. Every household should own one of these.

Useless - see other reviews - breaker trips

Would Not Recommend

What good is a high quality, easy starting generator if the breaker trips every time you plug something in? This thing won't run any compressor, hand tool, or almost anything else. The breaker trips just like the other negative reviews say. Why have a 14 amp breaker? It' tripping constantly. It's clearly VERY misleading advertising to say this is 3300 watts, 20 amp. It's not 3300 running watt, it's not a 20 amp plug. It's a piece of junk. Save yourself the hassle and buy something that a...

Bought this in 2013

Would Recommend

Bought this in 2013 for my parents. Has always started and ran when we needed it. Now we don't use it a lot but it always works when I need it. I own a Troy built generator I bought for $300 to $400 more. I do not see the difference right now.

In less than an hour!

Would Recommend

I bought the Generator at Lowe's and in less than hour it was being put to the test on the job site. The Lowe's associate made the purchase and selection easy. The Generator out performed all expectations of the contractor I delivered it to. He was able to plug his hammer drill into the Generator and bore into the concrete slab without hesitation. Have used it several times since that first day. It's now the go-to Generator for the remodel in progress.

Poor quality, don't buy

Would Not Recommend

Run! Don't buy Generac! That would be a good starting point. I expected better support and quality from Generac. The first generator I purchased was defective. I assembled the unit and added oil only to find that the case of the motor was leaking oil. After frustration in finding a local service provider to repair the generator, Lowe's sent the generator for repair. Without adding too much info about my frustration as well as headache in getting the generator repaired, I ended up with a new gene...

Deceptive Capacity

Would Not Recommend

While it is true that the unit can deliver 3300 watts, it can only do so at 240V. If you intend to use it for 120V loads only, you are limited to half that - about 1680 watts. The 14A breaker was necessary to protect the generator from excessive 240V loads, but penalizes the capacity on the 120V side at the same time. It would have been nice if it had a transfer switch and two different size breakers (14A for the 240V side and 25A for the 120V side). At a minimum, Generac should advertise this a...

Do not purchase

Would Not Recommend

For anyone wanting to buy this generator, I highly recommend you do your homework! It is rated as a 3300 watt generator w/ a 30 Amp plug for an RV. Here is the problem, it has a 14 amp breaker on all the outlets! This means that it is truly only rated at about 1680 watts of safe use. I called their customer support and the girl who answered had no clue how to figure watts to amps and didn't even know they sold this model, it is a Lowes exclusive. After doing some checking and calling me back (wh...

Manufacturer's defect; broken within 90 days

Would Not Recommend

We were VERY dependent on our new generator, having just moved to Maine and forced to live in an RV without electricity until we found a home. This model actually broke apart within 90 days of purchase, but we were denied a refund or exchange at this store. We had to take it to a repair shop, where they determined it was a manufacturer's defect and they fixed it at no charge. WHILE it was being repaired, though, we had to purchase a replacement generator, since it took 3 1/2 weeks. We bought our...

Know your max single device draw before purchase.

Would Recommend

This generator will deliver 3300 watts continuous, but note that this must be split between two 14A circuit breakers. in other words, no single device can draw more than 1650W. Homes typically have 20A circuit breakers and so can handle higher loads. The two 120V outlets on the left are one circuit, and the two on the right are the other. The combined watt draw on each set of two outlets cannot exceed 1650W. Also note that the RV adapter which is included can only draw power from one circuit (si...

DO NOT BUY

Would Not Recommend

With blizzard warnings and loosing power frequently I decided to buy this generator. I got it home assembled ot according to the instructions and tried to start it. After several tries I realized gas was dripping from the carberator, I shut off the fuel valve and it stopped, when re-opened it started dripping again. Needless to say this is going back!!!!!
