Warranty ends, washer breaks

Purchased washer and dryer set 17 months ago. Gas dryer didn't work from day 1 and had to be replaced right away. Washer was great until door lock started to have issues, than washer stopped working in the middle of the cycle. Now it doesn't start and turns off by itself after 10 seconds.

Failed after 1 year

Compound electrical failures almost one year to the day of purchase. Multiple error codes and a rabbit hole of tracing wires and leads because everything nowadays is built to survive the warranty period and no further. Do not buy GE. Avoid them as a brand.

Washer BROKE

After 19 months, our 'NEW' washer became a problem. It started with the unit stopping mid cycle with water in drum. After following all of the troubleshooting advice from the manual, the washer is now turning off and own by itself, won't unlock, and has constant pump sounds. This is after checking drain filter for clog and restarting the unit. GE was very responsive to a separate issue with our dryer and hope they come thru on this as well. We ONLY buy GE appliances, for now.

Disappointed in Performance Despite the Design

I’ve owned this GE front-loader for 2.5 years, and unfortunately, it hasn’t lived up to expectations. While the design is sleek and the Microban feature helps prevent odors, the washer consistently underperforms. Clothes often come out with a residue, likely due to the minimal water used, and I frequently need to run multiple cycles to get them truly clean. Over time, I’ve also noticed significant fading in my clothes. I appreciate the odor control, but overall, I regret this purchase.

None stop issues

Extremely disappointed. I spent a lot of time researching before buying this washer and truly thought I was making the right choice—but that turned out to be a mistake. The machine is not even 18 months old, and we’ve already had multiple issues. It frequently loses Wi-Fi connection, stops mid-cycle without warning, and now it’s stuck with a door lock error and won’t unlock. Goid washer but has a mold problem

The washer works well but mold is a big issue. We have to leave the door open after it finishes so the mold doesn't get too bad. Mold even grows under tge dispensing tray

Constant leaks

I have had this machine for 4 years. After the first year I have had leaks repaired 2 to 3 times a year which is very disappointing. The leaks are not the hoses but rather from a valve where the hoses connect, the pump, and even the automatic soap dispenser. I love the size, the features, and much about the machine but when I go into my laundry room and see a puddle of water it is disheartening. GE sent me parts free of charge once which was great but it just goes on and on and onto the next...

After 15 months of use the washer has decided to not drain and/or spin properly. Of course it is out of the one year warranty. I really hope it is an easy fix but from the other reviews it seems this is happening to others as well. For something that has such high ratings, this is very disappointing.

Great for the first year

Washer worked outstanding for the first year, now I am just out of the warranty and it no longer works. GE will not stand behind their product whatsoever, I will never purchase another unit from them again

Stay awat from GE front Loaders

Worked well for a few years than the noise started. Seems the rear bearing went out. Last GE i ever buy.

The machine has a lot of problems. In less than a year it is alright and broken and the machine door is stuck

I have only owned 3 years exactly and I have needed to replace the computer board and now again plus motor which will cost me almost as much as the washer itself. I will never purchase a GE again.

Do not buy! Less than two years old & issues

We have had this washing machine and matching dryer for less than two years and use a moderate amount. The washing machine motherboard stopped working to the tune of $450 to replace in order to use the machine. This is a product less than 2 years old for the amount paid it doesn’t make sense that there is this large of an issue this early on as well as the lack of any warranty for something that is clearly a quality issue. The one-step wash and dry cycle is a game changer!

Absolutely love this washer. It's huge and the 1 step wash and dry feature is a game changer! Makes my morning so much easier waking up to a clean load.

not lasting

door latch stopped working after 4years. machine starts and makes door latching noise and fails saying door open. GE machines used to run for decades but this is crap.

Washed Great, Broke in Three Years

The washer worked well for three years, and then stopped working a week ago. We paid a repair person to look at it, and the cost to repair it was almost the cost of a new unit, and he was unable to locate the part he would have needed. Very disappointed that we invested in what we thought was a high quality machine that did not last very long.

The worst ever

This is the worst washing machine I've ever purchased. After 18 months the fabric softener dispenser doesn't work. The door leaks, the soap dispenser is always "low" Even if you put it on "less" soap to dispense. I will never, ever buy a GE product again. Screw planned obsolescence and screw GE!

Junk 1 year and 2 months and it’s broken

After one year the inverter board and door lock both need replacing. Buyer be ware!

Big Disappointment

Disappointed…I had done so much research before purchasing this set and thought I had found a good choice. However, just past the year mark and of course out of warranty this machine started having issues. It started leaking…not the drain pump-we clean that regularly.
