Impressive for an electric unit

Easy to install; easy to use; flames are very 'real' like to be an electric unit.

Friends think it's a gas log set!

We are thrilled with our fireplace insert. It looks great and easy to put together. I even sprayed some fine stones to place around the ash drop area and it camouflages the edges -- looking more irregular. Used the same heat charcoal black I had sprayed the walls inside fireplace. We have a glass closing, so the curved back mirror does not show at all. Good product for the money. Thank you for getting it here for NY's eve celebration.

Love this fireplace! The look and feel of it is nearly authentic. Hope it provides good reliability through the years as we thoroughly enjoyed it this Christmas and hope to for many Christmas's to come.

Realistic looking flames

Flames are realistic, logs ok. Side and back lighting unrealistic (esp the green). In certain lights the glass panel shows but overall we are happy with our purchase.

We put this product in an existing fireplace. It was the perfect size. Looks very realistic.

This replaces a gas log set as we wanted the ambiance rather than the heat, living in Southern California. We find the remote control to be tricky in as much as we sometimes find we are getting heat when we do not want it. Otherwise it is great and we are thinking about getting another for a different room.

I would buy this product again

This looks so real! It as so easy to take out of the box, set in side the firebox and plug in. You really don't get any heat but it just adds to the ambiance in the living room!!

run a black marker around the outside of plastic

If You run a black marker on the edge of the plastic all the around and the lean the plastic top towards the back of your fire place it will look good. Do not put the plastic mirage piece in the slots on the base.

Loved the flames but the glare ruined it

Loved the overall look of the log set. The flames were very realistic and we tried everything to keep the log set but the glare from the insert was too great to for it to look good. It ruined the whole look of the fire. So we returned it. If it was not for the glare I would have given it 5 stars. Be warned if you have a window or a TV near the fireplace even if it is off to one side the glare will ruin the effect.

We love this insert! It's both beautiful and heats our area very well. We have an open living area with tall ceilings and the heater definitely cuts the chill and warms nicely. My mother was so impressed with the unit that she bought one too.

Useless remote control make use a chore

We have had Dimplex products in the past and liked them. This model provides a very realistic looking fire, and I wanted the ambience of a fire , so did not worry about the 1500w used by the heating elements. The insert would get a 5 star rating for looks, but the remote is absurd--one has to be DIRECTLY IN FRONT OF THE TINY EYE ON THE LEG ON BOTTOM OF THE RACK. iF YOU ARE EVEN A FOOT TO THE LEFT OR RIGHT OF THAT MAGIC SPOT, THE FIREPLACE WILL NOT TURN ON. Good alternative to gas logs.

We love the look in our brick fireplace. Wish it gave off more heat. During the day you can see reflector shield. All all we are happy for what it is.

Burning logs look good. Does not provide much heat

I use it in a fireplace that can no longer use wood because the chimney has a cracked tile. I like the looks of the logs burning but I am disappointed in the amount of heat that it generates. The fan speed does not seem adequate.

I bought this to use in a antique oak fireplace that I redid. It looks pretty authentic. I wish the reflector was a little more lightweight so it wouldn't show so much, but it is very nice!

I have used my electric fireplace everyday since I purchased it in late September. I love it. You have a choice about using the heat or not. Sometimes you just like the ambiance.

I am very pleased with my electric fireplace insert. I use it each night during the evening news. The previous wood-burning fireplace did nothing but suck the heat out of the room and leave a mess to clean up. It looks very realistic and even produces a small amount of heat.

My husband and I love it!

We had a real, wood-burning fireplace, but I was getting tired of the clean-up and the work, plus I could never enjoy the fireplace unless my husband was home to start it for me. Now, I am the remote at the fireplace, and I have a wonderful, warm fire ANY time I want one!!
