Heavy Duty Extractor

I receive my Crescent Apex Bolt Extractor Set today and could not wait to try them Out, I rounded a 1 ½ metal scew head (Pic 1} to test and first I used a normal ¼ inch drive 3/8 socket and it would not come out. The I used the APex ¼ inch drive 3/8 extractor socket and it came right out. The design of the extractor with the 6 Rounded inside (Pic 2) easily Grips the bolt firmly and the Orange Bands make them easy to locate if droped. Pro Con No Center magnet Alpa Case Sold Separately

Easier than a socket wrench

Handy tool for the occasion. These will be helpful removing older bolts and bolted screw fasteners. Can be used with impact driver or regular electric drill. Like a socket it doesn't have much depth so probably not ideal for some nuts with protruding bolt tips. I tightened up dinner stuff around the house fast.

New tool

I just received my new tool. Needless to say I needed this a month ago. I had to drill out striped screw and hope that I didn’t make it worse. I can wait to use this on next project!

Great grip on rusty old screws and bolts

I tore right into this one with spring here, I knew exactly what I would use these on. Although not severely damaged, heavily rusted. I always damage these bolts when doing maintenance on my a/c and mower. The screws typically come out with regular screwdrivers but any mis-alignment and you strip the head. This product works great for removing those bolts that have been stripped. It worked well and is a great tool for every mechanics toolbox. It is made of great material.

High Quanlity to do the Job

Wish I would have had these a few months ago for my car which had a deep and stripped bolt. At least one of these probably would have saved me a lot of trouble extracting it out instead of the unorthodox way I did it. No doubt these will grab onto the bolt and take it off. I’ll be able to use these with a drill or with an adapter to use with a ratchet. I’m almost looking forward to when I have another stripped bolt. Quality made set. 5 sizes to fit almost any screw head. Used with my impact gun and worked like a charm. It removed screw heads that were damaged as well. Nice set.

Compact and useful!!

Great Crescent Impact Rated Bolt Extractors.

Yesterday I received my Crescent Impact Rated Bolt Extractors. This nut extractor & driver set comes with sizes of 1/4” 5/16” 3/8” 7/16” 1/2”. This Crescent Apex impact set has a bi- directional design and enables removal and reuse of rusted and rounded fasteners. This is the best extractor & driver set I have ever owned; and it is made for higher torque impact applications with a Life Time Warranty.

Great for damaged fasteners

A tappered flute allows the bit to firmly grip a damaged fastener. The bit design is not a typical 6 point socket. The 1/4" shafts are a good length and fit my Dewalt impact perfectly. The set is for 1/4", 5/16", 3/8", 7/16" and 1/2" fasteners. This set is rated for impact drivers so breaking one should not be an issue.

Works well on rusted bolts

I recently received this products as part of a promotion . The husband is always working on some project in his garage and many times that involves rusted bolts . He was very interested in trying this set of extraction tools. He used to in an old motor and then on a metal shield off of an old car. He had success removing bolts on both items . Excellent grip

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Impact extractors have a slim design with a great feel to them. They bite on to the head of a rounded nut/bolt quickly. Makes removal of rounded or rusted nuts/bolt mush easier. Would not recommend to use on nuts/bolts that are not damaged as the extractor bites into the nut/bolt and has to be pulled out from extractor with some force.

Good for stubborn screws

Amazing grip !

As you can se from the photos, I was mounting a TV into the wall (in the garage). The first attempt was with a standard socket, I couldn’t get the lag bolt to go all the way in and moved up to try again, it failed and the head of the bolt rounded off. I then remembered I had these new Vortex bits; not only did they remove the lower rounded off bolt but they also had no problem driving the 2 new ones into place. Solid apex bit

This is a set of Apex Bolt Extractor/Drivers I will use often. 1. I like the solid feel of the drivers. They are heat treated with 10X the life. 50X the impact life.5X the griping force. 2. I tried it out on a stripped 1/4 bolt and it worked great. 3. The 1/4 inch shank makes it easy to get into tight spaces. This should be a solid addition to any toolbox.
