Killer Extractor

The Crescent Apex Impact Nut Extractors with a 5 bit carrier arrived on a shrink wrapped cardboard. They appear to be well built with sizes imprinted on the shaft. I didn't have a nasty bolt to test so I devised a small torture test. A bolt with a 1\2in head was screwed into a piece of metal and a heavy tack weld was applied then the bolt was abused with a file until a socket slipped around the nut. Was surprised at the quality and the handy holder

If you do any kind of work around the house or in the garage we’ve all had that stripped out bolt from time to time, I didn’t have one to try it on yet but the fit onto a regular good bolt was very tight and it gripped very well , Also the quality of the extractors is very good almost can’t wait to get a stripped bolt to really try it LOL

Grips great

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've never heard of using these to install the screws or nuts as well as removal. They grip so well even when installing. I used it to install several self starting screws into sheet metal. Never had an issue. I would recommend this product to anyone that deals with small nuts and bolts or hex head screws

Bolt Biter

These really work ! I used the 1/2” size to remove a bolt I had rounded off a while back. Comes in 1/4” 5/16” 3/8” and 1/2” in a rail that snaps into your Apex case. It has a 1/4” shank so it will fit any drill, and even works with impact drivers. It is bi-directional so it will work in either direction. It is a must have to any tool box.

Best product ever for problem bolt extractions

This pack is Connie the and economical to buy. I love the rounded insides and how easy it made to extract bolts that I been trying to get out for months. It comes with 1/4, 5/16, 3/8, 7/16, and a 1/2 driver. It worked great with my impact driver. I would definitely recommend this purchase. It had an amazing gripping force to it. Works better than expected

The bolt extractor worked perfectly on a stripped aluminum hex nut. The half inch socket and combination wrench all just spun on the nut. The bolt extractor grabbed it and held it tight enough to remove the bolt with an impact wrench. A must have tool for your toolbox.

Bolt Extractor

Nice looking set of bolt extractors. The quality is great. They work effectively even on bolts that aren't stripped. This is a good toolset to have in any shop.

Great nut drivers/extractors

I used the I/4" driver on the low setting of my old drill to remove two stubborn sheet metal screws. It did a good job of not slipping and rounding off the head. I'm sure the trades people will like theses as well.

Saved me some grief!

I restore/rebuild antique motorcycles as a hobby. Rounded nuts and colts are normal for these machines. These Apex “BoltBiters” have saved me a lot of grief as well as a huge amount of time. Although they will both remove and tighten damaged fasteners, I only use them to remove the offending nut or bolt. The extractors are impact rated but I prefer using either a ratchet or a slow speed drill.

nice set

Nice set of bits to go along with my set. Seat very well in my kobalt impact driver. Bits don't go over bolts as far as I thought will have to see on a damaged bolt head. Very attractive and nice addition to my tools.

Great addition to my Apex set

I have loved Apex bits. They are strong and work, period. They fit in my Apex case which is awesome. Really a great addition to my bits. For those hard to screw bolts.

Handy addition

This set of 5 Bolt Biter Bolt Extractors is a handy addition to my tools drawer collection of Hand Drill accessories. The six point grip will hold tight to the rounded bolt head and make removal of the bolt more successful. The hardened shaft will insure that it can apply maximum force to the bolt without failing. I hope I never have to apply that level when removing my next bolt, but it is reassuring to know I have a high quality Bolt Extractor in my hand and on the job. Thank you Crescent...

problem solved

I received these just in time to help me with a project I have been putting off . Even though these are called extractors you can use them as installers also. They grip the bolts very well WITHOUT a magnet. I still haven't totally understand how it gets the grip it has but i am glad it does. I would highly recommend these for and mechanic or weekend handyman to ease their work. Simple work of worn fasteners - bolt/nut/rounded

Overall these work pretty well, and everyone should have something similar to use when inevitably required. They do in fact work in both directions. My biggest complaint is that they seem to have only a slight taper inside, so there is only minimal amount of bite for severely damaged heads. If severely worn, you may end up between sizes, where one is too large and slips, but the next size down is still too small. These are made well, and having a set with an assortment of sizes is very convenient! Haven't used yet, but they will definitely come in handy around the house.

Work as they should

This review is for the Crescent Apex Set, Bolt Extraction, Vortex 5PC Rail. These work in both directions, to either remove or tighten damaged bolt heads. I like that it can be used with an impact driver and does not require any other attachments (similar to the screw extractor kit that I have). I also like that it comes with a socket rail for storing but I would have preferred a rack that has the size of the sockets on the rail. Universal Extractor&Driver

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I like them because they work on rounded off heads, they are made out of strong metal that will last longer than other. I would like if they were magnetic. The holder is a grate asset to the set by keeping them all in one small place.

Great and handy

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This 5 piece driver and extractor set was a nice edition to my tool set. The 5/16 driver and extractor especially comes in handy for hex headed screws that can easily strip some times. Along with the various other sizes which aren’t used too often myself, but always great to have.
