I had to return it

I bought this for my aunt who is in a nursing home. It turned the lamp on and off but while it was off it flickered on every few seconds. It is possible that it was because it was the type of bulb (CF) , but I think the touch lamp I have at home can use CF without any trouble.

Bad Product

Item didn't last a week. Would turn on the light all by itself. Had to return it. Poor technology but good concept. Can't recommend....

I had an old touch lamp that no longer worked. Went to Lowes for repair switch & the service rep recommended this lamp control. Works excellent!

Both good and bad

If you plug your three way lamp into this you will not need a three way bulb as it will dim the light by touching the metal parts of the lamp. Its big fault is that it is very vulnerable to electrical interference. If you leave the main light switch on, the lamp may go on by itself due to interference. Also say that you have the lamp on low, it may cycle to medium and then high or something to that effect due to interference. Not worth my money!

This product lasted less than a week. I read other reviews before I bought it and I should have listened. I needed a lamp to be a touch lamp without replacing it so I thought this might work but I was wrong. When it did work it was nice, except when it would turn itself on or turn into a strobe light. People, please don't waste your time or hard earned money.

awful product

I was able to get someone to help me but ended up finding the product by myself. This product started out great with one lamp and then after about two weeks it just stopped. I bought three of them for extras to try on different lamps. I now wish I hadn't bought any. Two of the three don't work and the third I haven't used yet. A total waste of my money.

ease of product for safety

purchased this for 95 year old mother-in-law for her lamp next to her bed since it was easier to touch for a light to come on than to turn one on.

Fixed my light, works like new

I was looking for an internal switch for my light, no-one had such a thing, I decided to try this product as a replacement with zero knowledge that it would work as a replacement. I was quite pleased that it returned my light to previous working condition exactly

Not yet ready for "Prime Time"

Idea is very compelling. However, the products just is not consistently performing as it's supposed to. Already returning one, out of 3 I bought. The rest are erratic in dimming modes. Don't know how long will they last. Just got them a week ago.

As advertised

I don't know how it works, but it does. We are using just a standard bulb that acts just like a three way.

Let down

I purchased this touch lamp control at Lowes and within two days it failed. I even tried it on a different outlit and lamp but it just didn't work. I will be returing it on my next visit.

a bit flaky...

This dimmer seemed to be just fine at first. You touch the lamp to turn it on, and touch it repeatedly to cycle through three levels of brightness and turn it off. But then it stopped working; the lamp wouldn't turn on. Unplugging it and replugging it would reset it so it would work again. But eventually the same thing would happen. So I returned it. I checked that "I would recommend it to a friend" because I still think it's worth a try. It might work reliably in your lamp. If not, you can just...

Great idea. Bad product.

Works great! BUT, shorts out. On our 3rd one. It lasted 3 days. Usually go bad after a storm. Last one just stopped spontaneously. Great idea. No life span.

This dimmer control can be used with some of the Dimmable low energy light bulbs sold at Lowes. We use this control with a metal floor lamp and all I do to dim the light up or down is to touch the lamp.

EXTREMELY POOR QUALITY

bought this dimmer adapter in July of 2014, quit working after two weeks. took it back and exchanged it for another adapter, quit working after 5 weeks. called the customer care number on the box. after a 10 minute wait the person on the other end had no knowledge of the product. she said the item number was invalid, when I stated it was their product and I needed help she was of no assistance.

Great concept - poor execution

I thought I had finally found the solution to my reach problem, this is a great idea and it worked great for about a week, then the light started coming on by itself, until it got to the point that it would not turn off! There appears to be a QC problem!
