What Customers Are Saying
The touch lamp control product offers a convenient way to convert regular lamps into touch-activated lamps. Many customers found it easy to use and appreciated the ability to control the light with a simple touch. However, a significant number of customers reported reliability issues, with the product failing after a few months of use. Common problems included the lamp randomly turning on or off, unreliable touch sensitivity, and complete product failure. The touch lamp control is also not compatible with LED or CFL bulbs and can be sensitive to static electricity and power surges. While the concept is appealing, the high failure rate leads to cautious recommendations from customers.

Would RecommendI've had a few of these go out on me and they also tend to make a low buzzing noise at times. I've also seen lights just come on or cycle through dimness levels randomly. However, I live in a house built in the 1950's and it could be my wiring. Regardless, it does work. I just wish they would last and that they slight buzzing noise wasn't an issue. That being said, the only other product I've found is made by Westek and it's much bigger and suffers the same issues with the addition of a overly t...
It was a little expensive but worth it if it last
Would RecommendI bought this to replace the sensor in a touch lamp that was built in. All I did was remove the old sensor in the lamp wired the lamp up to just come on when plugged in straight to the electric. I plugged the sensor I bought at Lowes to the electric then plugged the touch lamp into it and like it should the lamp was off. I touched the lamp & it came on & worked low, medium, & high perfect.
So convenient.
Would RecommendMakes turning lamps off and on so much easier. I bought several and gave one as a gift. You can't go wrong with this product. Also gives you just the right amount of light when needed.
Great product
Would Recommendthis was a quick fix to a touch lamp that was no longer working. works very well
Does not function properly
Would Not RecommendI purchased one of these and returned it, thinking it was defective. Got a a replacement, and it has the same issues. Certainly easy to "install." Just plug it in and then plug your lamp into it. Problem is, it has a mind of it's own. It might decide to come on at three in the morning, and it might flash through low, medium, high two or three times, then stay on. You might have it on high and be reading...and it will turn the light off. I tried it in a number of different outlets and with differ...
Touch Lamp Control
Would RecommendThis touch lamp control is the greatest! Nothing to take apart or assemble...just plug it in. We loved it so much we bought another one.
I like this product.
Would RecommendI like the product and had no problem with the store except I wanted to purchase 2 of them and could only get 1. The next time we were in the store we purchased another one. The only thing I noticed about the product is that sometime the lamps I put these dimmer switches on the lamps come on by themselves even though no one was by the lamp. I still am using them as I like the idea of not having any cords hanging.
Handle Carefully
Would RecommendThe price for these is quite nice and I am impressed by the fact that the work on every lamp I've attached them to and that is why they get four stars despite the quality issues. There is not a lot of difference between medium and high but that may be due to my low-wattage lamps. Note these only work on incandescent and halogen lamps. Forget LED and probably CFLs, although I have not tried a "dimmable" CFLs yet. All I know is trying it on an LED blew out the dimmer. Now the problems: - Most, no...
drepends
Would Not Recommendif the lamp is loose, it flickers as if there is a short.
Very convenient dimmer
Would RecommendI have 6 of these in use. Generally they work very well but they will turn themselves on and off during thunderstorms. REgretable they DO have a high failure rate, about 1 in 4 or 5 seem to fail with in months. The longest life I have witnessed is a couple of years.
Cool idea but unpredictable
Would Not RecommendI bought two of these for my bedside lamps. They do indeed convert the lamps into touch lamps, though I don't think the 3 way dimmer worked right. All 3 looked pretty much the same. The bad part was that they turned on and off all by themselves. About once every hour or two, the lamps would suddenly turn on or off suddenly for no reason. This was very annoying.
Awesome! Very helpful.
Would RecommendI stumbled upon these while looking for something else. I had no idea such a product existed, and I still don't know how it works. The dimmer is great for people like my wife and me who have a newborn and often are trying to fumble with the cord-switch on our bedside lamps with baby in hand. Now all we have to do is touch the lamp--and that can be done without taking our hands off him. It's a little pricey, but what a great convenience product.
