comes on with lightning

This will turn on your lamp when lightning is around, could be 30 miles away. I have to unplug it when a storm is nearby. It is also not very sensitive to touch on the lamp.

brightens and turns on all by itself

Doesn't work on all metal lamps (older ones did) - brightens and turns on all by itself

They only have two different ones

Though it was going to be perfect however it would not work on my lamp took it back and got the button one it works fine

Regarding the Utilitech White Touch Lamp Control

We plugged in the two new Utilitech lamp controls on each side of the bed. Didn't work because touching one lamp would shut off the other...you know why? If the devices are on the same circuit, they react to one other. We only found out after opening the product to retreive the tightly packed directions! This fact needs to be out the outside of the packaging!

Junk - Defective Out of the Retail Packaging !!!!

These Utilitech Lamp Dimmers are total junk. They never work (and believe me I have gone through my share of these from Lowe's). Even if they do work, it won't be long before they stop working, and you realize you've waisted another $10.00. I finally give up on these garbage lamp dimmers!!!!

Touch Lamp Control

Does exactly what we wanted. Just touch the metal in the lamp it turns on. It works at a low, medium and high lamination. Going to buy more of these. Very happy.

After reading the reviews I was skeptical, however so far lamp works just as well as it did originally.

It didnt work well and already quit completely

Worked sometime for a while but already stopped working at all. Need a refund please.

Too good to be true?

They work but not as well as I would like. Sometimes I have to touch a lamp 40 to 50 times before it registers. Other times I can touch it once and it's fine. I'm sure it's very dependent on the lamp and maybe the quality of the metal parts of the lamp. I am using them with two lamps on my desk so I also wonder if my cable management (lots of cables bundled together) might somehow interfere with the electrical signal this seems to depend on. They may work better on a freestanding lamp with ...

Piece of Junk

I returned it. It did not work in one lamp. I moved it to another lamp and it came on in the middle of the night. Don't waste your money.

Utilitech

They don’t last very long. I had to replace each of them within a few months.

We have a hard-to-reach switch on our lamp and this gadget makes it easy to turn on and off.

Does not work very well, & it was damaged

For some reason, no matter how hard I tried, I couldn’t get my lamp’s plug in to go in all the way. It would get stuck halfway. No reason why I can tell from looking at it. Thus, the lamp won’t even work with it in. Useless. The second one that I bought wasn’t broken like it’s pal, so the touch part works. But sometimes the lamp will have a mind of it’s own and turn on or off by itself. I don’t mind that so much. Just mad about the one that’s broken.
