Ratings & Reviews for Timberline 2 -cu ft All natural Hardwood bark Hardwood Mulch
Ratings may include incentivized customer reviews.
What Customers Are Saying
Customers overwhelmingly praise this mulch for its natural, undyed composition and effectiveness in moisture retention and weed control. Many highlight its soil-enriching properties, lack of chemical additives, and long-lasting performance, making it ideal for organic gardening. The coarse texture and 2-inch application depth deliver reliable results. However, some report inconsistent shredding quality, with complaints of oversized wood pieces, rocks, and occasional mold or metal debris. Despite these drawbacks, most customers consider it a dependable choice for garden beds and slopes.

A little expensive, but you get what you pay for.
Would RecommendHas a very good longevity rating and the color stays without fading after a few weeks. Definitely prefer hardwood to pine mulch as the ants do not seem to get into the hardwood like they do in the pine.

This is good stuff.
This is the good stuff. Just like you remember. You will not be disappointed once this is put around your plants. And, if you call ahead to the store they will load it on a cart and push it to your car or truck. No standing in line.
Hardwood bark will last longer than pine.
Easy to spread around the flowers or vegetable plants.

Terrible
Would Not RecommendAbsolutely the worst mulch i've ever bought. Everything but the kitchen sink was in that bag. The mulch itself was in terrible shape, and it had hunks of logs in there.
Overall a good product.

BEST MULCH EVER!
Would RecommendA Landscape professional recommended this mulch for me and what a difference from what I had been using! It comes out of the bag perfectly and lays down well! And the best part is it doesn’t roll down the hill when it rains! I will buy timberline Hardwood Mulch from now on!

Good mulch without dyes
Would RecommendGreat mulch, but got shorted at pickup. I ordered 25 bags and got home to 23 bags. It was the weekend of the big snowstorm, so I never went back.

Looks ok. Has metal trash in it. Missing bags.
The mulch itself looks ok and healthy. Last year the bags were all great. This year (2026) my first order had metal trash and hard plastic in 30% of the bags, my 2nd order was missing bags and 15% had trash in them.

Easy pickup
I ordered 5 bags of hardwood mulch, parked in the designated space, and after notifying staff that I was there, someone promptly came out with my order and loaded it into my car. I appreciate this service as I am a 71 year old woman. Thank you.
