What Customers Are Saying
Customers overwhelmingly praise this mulch for its natural, undyed composition and effectiveness in moisture retention and weed control. Many highlight its soil-enriching properties, lack of chemical additives, and long-lasting performance, making it ideal for organic gardening. The coarse texture and 2-inch application depth deliver reliable results. However, some report inconsistent shredding quality, with complaints of oversized wood pieces, rocks, and occasional mold or metal debris. Despite these drawbacks, most customers consider it a dependable choice for garden beds and slopes.

Yep, it's mulch!
Would RecommendYep, it's mulch alright! Not dyed, just shredded up wood. Have had no issues with it, but have seen slightly nicer looking shredded hardwood mulch elsewhere. Lowe's is convenient for me, so I'll take it.

Great mulch product!
Would RecommendNon-dyed bagged mulch is unfortunately hard to find these days! This is a great mulch that spreads easily, doesn't stink, and at least with the bags I've used, no moldy clumps and the size of the mulch itself is pretty consistent (no large pieces). Dyed mulch isn't good for the soil, so I'm glad Lowe's carries this option. This is a nice, dark brown that looks great in my flower beds.

Great mulch for spring garden preparation
The consistency of this mulch was just what I needed around my bushes. It was “clean” and shredded perfectly. I will be back for more
