Awesome Smoker!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Works great! One of the only gas smokers that you can set an actual temp. And it is actually accurate? Takes some time to assemble but well built and performs well. All at a reasonable price. Would highly recommend.

Love this Smoker

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have had different smokers over the years, including a Masterbuilt. When I saw the new Masterbuilt with the thermostat I knew I needed it. Great choice, my smoking ability has soared to new levels. Finally I can relax and not be checking the smoker every few minutes. Also much easier to clean. Love it!!!!

Works, but be aware…

I bought my smoker in 2021 and have used it about 20 times. The smoker works as expected, but the paint job is subpar. The interior paint has bubbled up and come off in large sections. Some on the food! I smoke mostly fish, so low and slow. Not high heat! The paint shouldn’t come off!! Do better at painting these!

i have had one of these for over 5 years. easy to use has a great capacity and very reliable. also it is easy to order and change parts when needed. i will re purchase this item at some point

Save Your Money

Save your money and buy a different brand. My MPS230S broke after three months of light use. Not only broke, but was shooting flames out of the tube to the burner, which melted the piezo igniter, the heat knob and some of the paint on the front of the unit. The construction is not only shoddy, but potentially dangerous.

Masterbuilt propane smoker

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have 3 smokers and use this one the most. It is the most convenient, regulates temp the best and most portable. It is sufficiently large to cook for large groups yet small enough it doesn’t take too much fuel. The smoker tray is small and gets too hot very quickly, producing too thick of smoke. I normally use a smoke tube with pellets to get a long slow smoke supply for best results

1 Year Later

The design of this smoker makes it not last very long. The fire diffuser is directly below the food, so the food drips onto the heat diffuser, and then eventually into where the flames come out from the burner itself, and then they won’t come out clean and evenly. Without even flame, the chips won’t smoke under low setting. Under a high setting, you’re just cooking your food instead of smoking it. I’ve gone back to my other electric smoker, because this one was unusable after about four months...

Junk Smoker

This thing is junk. Does not produce any smoke. Do not buy. I regret purchasing it. I would give it zero stars.

This is a terrible product!

I bought this smoker 2 years ago and have never been able to get it to work as advertised. The flame does not stay lit and despite following the trouble shooting guide it is hit or miss to get it operating. Do Not Buy!

Poor Initial Quality

Top door hinges are not mated well so door dose not seal correctly. This leaves an air gap between door and the cook box. Door handles get hot are hard to open and close. Wood chip bin is small and useless. Water pan needs to be deeper so it can hold water. This is my 3rd master built product and the initial quality is very poor. Had my last smoker for 8 years before the floor rusted out. That was to be expected as I use it at least once a month.

Great smoker! I had my reservations about this smoker, Yet I still wanted it. I don’t have reservations anymore. I love this smoker, my family loves this smoker. It does everything I could ask for and more. I didn’t give it 4.5 and 5 stars for two reasons. So lets start at 5 ***** for now. 1) ***** stars. the door is a leaky. I have a fair amount of smoke that leaks out the door. If I’m leaking smoke, I’m leaking heat as well. So lets call that 4.5 stars. 2) **** 1/2 stars. Temperature variatio...

Nice Smoker

I previously owned the Masterbuilt standard propane smoker and was really happy with it. I decided I wanted larger and thermostatically controlled temperature, I’m very happy with this smoker, it holds temperature well, the temperature setting is about 15 degrees off though but it’s constant so I know to add 15 degrees to my temperature. Nice easy smoker to use - give yourself plenty of time to assemble it’s not hard but is time consuming.

My model you can use wood or propane, I used Hickory wood and they all turned out great. I cant wait until I smoke my next time will be a rack of venision.
