Does not stay lit.

Bought and assembled a couple months ago. Finally got a chance to use it. Two hours into the smoke the flame went out. Not a supply issue. Will only stay lit if you hold the knob in. Let go of the knob it goes out. The heat sensor is installed properly, connections are tight. The controls are simply faulty and based upon dozens of other reviews it’s a common defect.

Rust and design flaws

I was getting ready to use this unit but the fire box fell out because the bottom had rusted through. This would have been the third year. I bought this same model before and it lasted 3 years. Both were stored in a dry location. This has 3 design flaws: 1) cheap thin sheet metal for the bottom and fire box that is not rust or heat resistant. 2) The wood chip holder / dish allows flames to reach the wood and ignite the chips resulting in a loss of control and over heating. 3) The water pan is ...

Love it!!!

This smoker is amazing, its pretty efficient and very easy to use, I love that it requires NO electricity as we live off the grid. I wish it would bet to the 400 mark so I could use it as a oven alternative, but its okay that it doesn't. I use our smoker at least 3 or 4 times a week and have smoked chickens, bacon, steaks of various cuts and thicknesses. I sometimes don't put the wood chips in just cook on a low and slow. Poorly drilled holes, poor merchant cust svc

Really wanted to love this smoker but the holes were not drilled properly out of the box, the paint is already peeling in spots as well. Do not attempt even beginning to get a warranty request in with the company as it is a hoop jump like no other. Shame as I am over 2 hours from the nearest Lowe’s to return it as well. Avoid!

Awesome Temperature control

Wonderful fearures

Smoking

Made two alterations- first was to put a cast iron pan on the burner so more chips could be added. Second was due to my butcher giving me a harder turkey then I ordered. Big upgrade

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had a smaller vertical smoker before. Besides accommodating much more food at once, it also cooks more evenly. Wood chips work like a charm in a cast iron sitting right on the flame. Great buy.

30” Analog Vertical Propane Smoker

Dude, plz!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have created many master pieces with this oldie but goodie! to the point of rusted out legs and frame. I have a southern pride, expensive unit, but with my wingman Masterbuilt and me can compete against any brand... i'd rather use no other. i start the fire with propane, and later turn off, and allow a slow, smoky burn with wood chunks below. i have many stories...and memories, photos, stored in my brain, under bbq! ty.

Cooks way more than you think!

Set it and forget it!!!

When i purchased this i tried using everything as intended but wasn't getting the smoke output i was wanting. I ended up taking the lid off of the chip pan and using larger chunks of wood to produce the amount of smoke that i desired. All in all a great smoker with a few changes made me a happy customer. 2 door smoker

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have had this smoker for a year now and have used it summer and winter. When i 1st got it there was a problem with it staying lit. I called Masterbuilt and they said it probably was a safety feature and told me how to make the simple adjustment. It works great now and have smoked many different things on it and have never been disappointed.
