What Customers Are Saying
The wire strippers appear to work well for a variety of wire sizes, with users praising the ease of use and consistent stripping. However, some customers experienced issues when trying to strip thinner or stranded wires, with the jaws not gripping properly and the tool's performance degrading over time. The mixed reviews suggest the tool may not be suitable for all wire stripping needs.

Would RecommendIm glad I didnt listen to these reviews reference these strippers. These strippers work great
Much better than old style striipers
Would RecommendI bought these 2078300 8 inchers after reading hundreds of reviews online and watching YouTube videos on this style of strippers. These were by far the ones most recommended. Only CON so far is that sometimes the cutter fails to completely seperate the outer insulation requiring a second cycling of the tool. Adjusting the tension screw helped but did not completly eleminate the malfunction.
Had to use 2 hands
Would RecommendThe tool didn't fully grab on to the wire to strip it. I had to push down on one side to help it catch grip. I dont know is maybe the wire was outside of its capabilities. It was a standard light fixture wire.
Built to Pass
Would Not RecommendThe plastic depth gauge broke within a week on two pairs of these strippers. Don’t expect to consider the depth gauge an actual feature. If you plan on using these for 12-14 gauge solid wire professionally, expect them to last a few days. If you plan on using these at home, use them sparingly only on special occasions as not to wear them out. The “adjustable gripper” looses its grip and the cutter side just pulls the entire wire through, without stripping anything but your money. The inacces...
avoid at all costs, and use manual strippers
Would Not RecommendBought these for home use after using a similar style of greenlee strippers at work, but the grippers kept ripping through insulation, while the cutters would break strands of the wire. Returned immediately. 1/10, would only use for crimping lugs.
Great fit for my tool box!
Would RecommendAfter reading several review I made the purchase. The tool is well built & solid. It is a bit bulky in my DIY electrical tool pouch but the convenience & ease of use outweigh the size. I have used them on multiple sized wire from 10-20. The strip has been clean & sharp on all sizes thus far. For $21 should have bought it years ago.
This stripper is worth every penny that I paid
Would RecommendI had a simple stripper that I used for many years. For small wires I ended up using scissors to delicately cut through the insulation. This stripper reduced my task from 10 minutes to 20 seconds. Auto-adjustable setting has saved my hands from cramping. I love this wire stripper from IRWIN.
Why did I wait!?
I've been using the wire strippers you find the right Guage, open strippers and close, and pull, twist pull some more... And sometimes you get the sheath off the wire, sometimes you don't, and sometimes half the wire goes with It! So I bought these and WOW SO much faster and cleaner I don't know why I waited!
Great concept
Great concept, but I wish it worked better. Sometimes it doesn't cut when it's supposed to and just slips over the cable. I've tried a number of different gauges. Usually it works, but it can take 3 or 4 squeezes before it finally grabs and strips.

Works great
Would RecommendVery good construction. It has a wire guard to hold the wire in to strip the wire. Nice feature.

Useless
Would Not RecommendWhat a waste of money, a pocket knife does a better job. Over half the time it wouldn't even grip the wire to strip it on the tightest setting.
Strong stripper!!!
Would RecommendThis stripper will actually save you money in the long run , unlike those other strippers that take all your money!!! Plus you won’t come home with glitter all over you!!

Not worth a darn!
Would Not RecommendI bought these thinking they would be great because of the brand name - wrong! They do not work at all well - I'll pay a little more for a competing product. BTW - I am skilled in electronics - my little manual scissor type stripper works infinitely better.

Works Intermittently
Would Not RecommendThe first 5 or 6 wires ( 12ga Romex) it worked, then I had to turn the adjuster+ all the way and it only work intermittently. It seems to get good reviews, maybe I should try another one or try another brand.

Wow! So cool
Would RecommendIve been splicing wires for years.motorcycke wiring and radios/speakers for cars/homes. Started out just using a povket knife, then slotted wire stripers with 5 or 6 different gagues to strip. But, What?!? A pair of plier-like stripers that can strip just about any gague without any adjustments at all. Wow! Without any reservations i can say these work amazingly. Perfect every time. You can strip a 1/8th inch off or standard, really any length. And, doing a splice (striping a section of ...
