Not as easy or fast as they make it look

Each board (12 ft) took a lot of time and a Bowrench to get the board to go into the clamp and tapping hard with a hammer. They look great once they are in, but it is a workout.

Versa Clip

I tried a couple but between the size of the gap between the boards and how the Trex board didn't seem to fit properly I took them back and opted to screw down the Trex boards. The versa clips do not seem as strong as the trex clips but the price shows that.

Junk.

lowes supplied these with my trex boards. the clips are uneven. the screw heads strip. you have to fight every board to get it in tight and straight. the trex brand was cheaper and 100 times easier to use.

Better than Trex

I have used these with Trex Deck boards. I have built lounge chairs, a picnic table, and I am currently resurfacing my deck. They are strong, they secure well and even better allow for perfect spacing between the boards!! In the attached photo benches are under construction and the deck has not been started....

Composite decking

These are horrible!!! The screws strip and bend very easy. The actual clips also bend very easy! If you need to tap the boards over a little bit...don’t with these clips! They will bend and stick into the board!! I put three boards down and threw away 30 clips. So I took the boards up and returned the clips. Then I bought the trek clips. They worked really good

Easy

The only issue is the screw head strips way to easy, cheap metal.

very nice

These are pretty awesome. They lock in your deck planks and ensure uniformity in spacing. They are expensive but necessary for a beautiful deck. They also hide the screws. When installing, the planks tend to bend away from you, so you have to install these in line and hammer (with a rubber mallet) the planks closer after each fastener is screwed in -- somewhat like a zipper effect. Good fastener, poor screw

The fasteners work well for composite decking installation. However, the heads on the screws tend to strip out. They are pretty weak.

Great clips but very poor screws

The clips worked well on hardwood deck planks. The screws, however, had a 30% failure rate due to being too soft. The drill bit would carve the slot out of the head then I would have to use vice grips to back the useless screw out. In resorting to buying Power Pro #9 x 1 1/2-in Stainless Steel Deck Screws I was able to reliably insert screw without having to pre-drill every time. If you want to drill pilot hole for every screw, that is one approach to save a few dollars on hardware. I agree...

Overpriced screws and fasteners

This kit is way overpriced for what it offers. the market is taking advantage of the fact that the buyers are people that may potentially have a little deeper pocket and they are charging an arm and a leg for a box of screws and some clips. there is nothing special about either of them.

Screws are made out of soft aluminum...square head doesn’t stand up very well

Great product. Easy to install with wonderful results. Takes a little more time than nailing but well worth it.

Hidden deck screws

A bit of a pain compared to just screwing in your deck boards, but if your installing a composite deck this is the way to go!!! Absolutely stunning finished product!

Genius Fasteners

Never again see screws in your composition decking. Had I thought of this myself, I’d be on a beach with fruity drinks and tan babes.

Well made. Solid clip

Clips are extremely strong. The stopper provides a consistent and proper gap when installing. Screw heads will strip if you arent straight on with correct pressure. The price is high, but its probably because the metal is of a large gauge. Solid clip that will definitely last as ling as the Trex deck.

Easy installation

These are by far the easiest way that I have ever found to install a deck. I even used an impact driver to install them but I have a lot of experience the guys I had helping used drill driver we had no problem whatsoever. If you think you are having trouble installing them watch the video it is highly informative. Works just as easy in real life as it does in the video
