What Customers Are Saying

The fasteners are reported to be effective at creating a clean, hidden look and maintaining consistent board spacing. However, the installation process is often challenging and time-consuming, requiring additional tools. The included screws are also criticized for poor quality, frequently stripping or bending. While the fasteners can produce an attractive final result, the installation difficulties and hardware issues lead some users to prefer alternative fastening methods.

Where to start?

Would Recommend

The instructions say to start the first board at the ledger and work out to the edge of the deck. I think this is a huge gamble. If your calculations are off, or it your gaps are too wide or too narrow between boards, you can end up out at the end of the deck with a small piece to cover, or a piece that is not square or both. This is much easier to conceal up against the house than it is out at the edge of the deck.

Screws were junk! HadToSpend $20 on screws!!

Would Recommend

The Versaclips look great and work pretty well. But after spending $163.00 on fasteners and installing 3 boards I had about 5 screw heads to strip out. I had to make a special trip back to Lowes to buy $20.00 worth of trim head screws.

These work okay. For the benefit of not having any exposed screwheads, they are beneficial. Priced high but you get the benefit of no screws showing. I recommend checking your spacing as you go to make sure you don't get out of square when installing.

Almost passed them up

Would Recommend

After reading all the reviews here, I almost passed these clips up. But, I really wanted a deck with no exposed fasteners. So I decided to give them a try. I am really pleased with them. I installed ChoiceDek boards and my deck is beautiful. They are not as fast as just driving screws. I'm sure that a contractor would not want to devote the time to this. To them time is money and I understand that. I did learn a few things on the installation that might help someone who is interested . The scre...

very poor design - screws are junk

Would Not Recommend

tried to use these on Trex decking clip was to long for the groove which caused board to not fit together. Gap was too big. the screws are total junk the head strips way to easy. seems like they are way to soft. Taking them back to try something else. WAY OVERPRICED AND I DO NOT RECOMMENDED.

Junk

Would Not Recommend

The Vesaclip hidden deck fasteners are junk, the were hard enough to use on small boards but when I starting trying to install a 16' board they were next to impossible to use. Took the junk back and went with the CAMO system.

I would use again and recommended to friend

Would Recommend

My deck looks awesome. It takes a little longer to install these clips versus screws but I was very happy with the finished look. The system installed easily into the Trex decking I purchased. I needed more start clips so I called the manufacturer and they sent some out free of charge. I love the fact that these are STAINLESS!

Didnt Fit Properly and Way Too Expensive

Would Not Recommend

I bought these to try and use them to have a screwless deck. After trying to get the boards lined up and having the clips never fit ino the grooves properly had to give up and go buy screws anyway. In the end the with the amount of screws I bought and this box I ended up saving. The screws were about 1/3 of the price and I felt I saved a lots of time and frustration.

Very Disappointed

Unfortunately accepted a delivery from your truck without checking the boxes to make sure they were sealed. These Cartons come with very few "end of deck" clips and all were removed from my cartons only to find out they do not offer these particular clips separately, you need to buy the whole carton again. This is an epidemic in your store since I checked other cartons along with Matt your employee (who was very helpful) only to find that this is common place. I would suggest you contact Versacl...

Not worth the cost!

Tried this with Trex. Left too big of a gap. Very hard to pull boards in. The little screw head's stripped too easy. Ended up taking clips out and used screws.

Hard to work with.

I thought for the extra money these didn't seem to work very well with the composite boards. Returned them for credit. Found that screws were easier.

they work but!

Would Recommend

Used on Choicedek decking, clips seem small, screws have a very small head, need to use special socket tool to install screws. For the high price of these clips, they seems chinchy. they work on this decking, but the manufacturer recommends another clip, Mantis clips #296. Lowes can special order these, they are not stocked. You need to use a 5# deadblow hammer to pound the deck board together, you can't slip the boards together by hand.
