Composite deck hidden fasteners

Clips are good, and pull in decking tight. Need to replace square drive which strip out a lot, would love to see the square drive replaced with 6 point spline drive.

great product

Yes, there is a learning curve in using this product. Once you get used to how using a few clips it got easier to get the clips installed without stripping the heads of the screws. The deck looks great by using this product and it is rock solid locked down. When adding on to my deck, I will certainly use again.

must have deck fastener

I used this fastener to anchor down composite deck boards with the grove down both sides of the boards. These clips allow proper spacing between boards and a no screw appearance. The trick in the installation is to shove each clip completely into the grove on the side of each board. A rubber mallet is a must to drive each board up onto the proceeding boards clips. Worth the expense

Although they are a bit pricey they are worth every penny! My new floating deck is beautiful! I love the fact that no screws are visible yet very secure.

Not a good idea for me.

This system just did not work as well as advertised. The planks do not slide together as advertised. The screws provided stripped out almost at once making any adjustment very difficult.

Excellent product. Do not believe direction regarding seating planks into clips. I used a 3 lb dead blow mallet to seat trex 16 ft planks. Hulk Hogan could not force the planks to seating depth.

good, as long as u are careful, take your time. dont get in a rush. screw heads do seem to strip easy. overall i like them

Huge waste of time and money

I've never tried to use anything that is so worthless. Flimsy and cheap. Clips constantly moved while trying to screw into the lumber ripping up the board, constantly bent not to mention screws constantly striping out. The only good thing to say is that the screws and clips were easy to rip out when they failed. I wasted a full day trying to use them and am going to throw them away and just use deck screws. I pray the boards last at least a season. My hat is off to whomever can get this sad exc...

Very displeased with product

The screws are soft metal and when you try to screw them down even when you first drill a piolet hole the screw strips before you can get it down into the piolet hole. this causes the screw head not to go far enough down in order to fit the next board in. The only way is to go buy better screws. But I am bringing this trash back to the store.

Does not work with Choicedek!!!

This should not be listed as compatible, very difficult to work with!! Size of groove makes it impossible to line up on boards!!

Clips not so easy to use as advertised.

Re-surfaced our 12x16 foot deck and decided on the hidden fasteners and curved composite deck boards. After the first two planks which took forever to install, I gave up on the clips and when with surface screws. I watched and read all of their installation instructions and the one thing in common was that they used a very small deck demo which was probably set up perfect before installing the clips. I suggest if someone decides on the clips to fasten the deck boards, by all means do your homewo...

Deck Fasteners

If one is building a deck this the way to go and I love how easy they are to work with. They not only secure the deck flooring they space the boards as well for that even look.

They work OK, but it is time consuming.

These work OK, but there is a learning curve. I have about 150 boards to install and have so far only installed 12 in half a day. We are getting better at installing, but it is slow going. The stainless steel screws are prone to strip out, so you have to be extra careful. I think that if I had to do it over again, I would just screw through the boards. The end result looks good with the clips, but it is time consuming, and a more expensive way to go. I would give this 2.5 stars if I could. If yo...

very difficult to use

trex boards have some bow and bend in them and they are extremely difficult to use when installing your trex boards- we abandoned them after two boards- highly recommend trex hideaway fasteners which we purchased instead. The hideaway screws straight down and not at an angle like the versa clips. It is also much easier to get your boards to sit properly and get attached to each other. Returning my very clips to the store. Would NOT recommend using this system.

Good product priced a little high

I put down 92 16' choice beach gray using the FastenMaster. Screws strip easily. and while they provide you with extra bits they don't last. also, make sure you build a good foundation. the deck is more pliable they wood and not as strong. but in the end the look using the fastenMaster is excellent. I had no problems with the color, very durable and no maintenance in the first few months since installed.

They strip easily, and try getting a 16 foot board to line up with the clips and push into place, I dare you
