What Customers Are Saying
The product is a powerful and efficient tool for drilling into concrete, brick, and other tough materials. Customers praised its performance, with minimal vibration and overheating, and found it to be an excellent choice for heavy-duty tasks. However, a few users reported issues with the drill, such as it burning out or struggling with certain jobs, and some felt it lacked power at lower speeds, making it less suitable for delicate work. Overall, the product appears to be a reliable and well-suited tool for most home improvement and construction projects.

Would Not RecommendI bought this drill for boring holes through railroad ties. I was boring 1/2" holes through the ties. On hole #3 the drill had a catastrophic failure. Pieces literally flew out of the motor vents for the drill. I can not recommend this drill for this type task. Maybe I needed to srep up to a 3/4 drive drill?
Powerful little drill
Would RecommendI have an American flag attached to the front of my brick house. For the 10 years it has been there, the bracket has come loose 3 times. Each time I attempted to drill into the brick with a regular drill & a masonry bit to insert cement anchors and reattach the bracket. The job was a real pain and took forever usually breaking at least one of the bits. So this time when the flag fell, I decided enough is enough. I went to Lowe's and purchased this Dewalt Hammer Drill and some much larger ce...
Works great on SMALL STUFF ONLY
Just snapped the drive gears in the second one of these i have had.. The first did not make it thru the first day..drilling 2 1/4 holes for vent pipe. If it gets in small bind.. it will break! I have had it just over a year now.. due to stroke i am just now getting back to doing a few minor things.... Like finishing my master bath... oh well.. will see if lowes will help me out tomorrow.

Poor quality for Dewalt
Would Not RecommendI have many Dewalt tools, but this one doesn't make the cut. I purchased this and it ended up burning up within the first 30 min. I returned it and got a new one. Used it about 6-10 time over the last year. It gets very hot if you use it for more then 5 min. Then two of the 4 bolts the hold the housing together broke. After calling Dewalt, they said I could take it to their service center one hour away, but I would probably be charged since it was about a year since I purchased it. This product ...
Great Drill
Would RecommendFor what I've used it for so far, it hasn't failed me yet. I don't foresee any issues in the future either. Great little household hammer drill.

Burnt up 2
Would Not RecommendI am an industrial roofer and i bought theses last week 2 of them to be exact and well it took all of to days to burn them both up to the point they were smoking i love dewalt products but if your looking for industrial use may be a bad idea went back out and bought the bigger more powerful version hopefully this one will shine
Great for the $$$
Would RecommendI have had good luck with Dewalt tools in the past so i had no hesitation to purchase this drill. I got it on sale for $80 and its a great drill for the money. Hammers quickly through brick and concrete, which is what i needed. Has a keyed chuck which i prefer on 1/2 " drills. Cant beat it for the $$$.
Solidly Built .
Would RecommendSolidly built. Runs goods. Very smooth and well built. I would recommend the Hammer Drill.

Good Hammer Drill
Would RecommendWorked great for what I wanted to do - went 1" into cinder block in less than 15 secs. Keyed chuck holds the bit better than my key less drill. Don't know about durability yet. Quality seems fine. I bought this drill to replace a battery powered hammer drill that didn't hold a charge any longer. Since I don't use a hammer drill very often (I've got other battery powered drills for regular use) corded was the way to go. No carrying case but I don't need/want one.

Burned out in 10 minutes
Would Not RecommendIn store, I told the tool person I was drilling holes into a tree stump, even had the 1"x12" bit in hand. They recommended this drill, and not only did it not spin, it started smoking in 10 minutes. Not worth it, and I'm returning the piece of junk.
Good product...
Would RecommendPriced well, easy to use, reliable, depth gauge is handy, nice length cord. overall worth the purchase. pre-drilling our 60 yr old concrete to set screws was easy. we went down about 2 inches per anchor. definitely a requirement (as opposed to a straight up drill) Weight is such that it is not awkward for a smaller person such as myself to handle.

Needed hammer drill
Would RecommendWas attaching wood framing to cinder block walls. Researched how to do and some "pros" said not to use a hammer drill on block while others said it was the only way to go. Let me tell you it is the only way to go. This drill pounded out the holes in quick fashion and did not damage the blocks as it was said it might. If you are going through blocks, get a hammer drill. At $89.00 it was a great price and really saved me time and effort on the job.

Good hammer drill
Would RecommendFor $89 it does a good job. I would not recommend it to be used everyday for heavy drilling. For that I would invest in a heavier drill. For the average homeowner, this will do most jobs that you might encounter.

Poor strength
Would Not RecommendI adore Loews. Have been going to one for 4 years after we purchased a house that need ton of work. Hot water tank, entire kitchen, electrical, tools, insulation, patio stones, secrete, plants, topsoil, etc.. People in the Port Charlotte store recognize me as family and know me by name.. Friendly and knowledgeable of the products in their section.

No More For Me.
Would Not RecommendAs a contractor, I have had no luck with DeWalt tools. I have had plenty of them but I could never force myself to buy another one now. They are not long term durable, not for me anyway. If you want a good drill, buy a Bosch or a Hilti.
Died while drilling concrete...
Would Not RecommendIn the beginning I like this product. However I tried to drill 4 inch concrete with this drill and after half hour of work (on and off) it just died. It was my third usage (I use it couple of times before to break my chimney clay liner). A little bit disappointed... I was lucky to return it to lowes (it was within 90 days from purchase date)
Hammer Drill
Would Not RecommendThis is a real nice hammer drill for the price except that the chuck will not hold larger bits tightly. It worked great for drilling holes in concrete for tapcon anchors but when drilling a larger hole for other things, I had to re tighten the check every 10 seconds
