This is a real nice hammer drill for the price except that the chuck will not hold larger bits tightly. It worked great for drilling holes in concrete for tapcon anchors but when drilling a larger hole for other things, I had to re tighten the check every 10 seconds

Easily met immediate Masonry drilling needs

I purchased the Dewalt DW511 to drill 2 inch diameter holes through seven inch cement walls. Coupled with a Lenox masonry hole saw, the drill performed flawlessly. I looked at the DW520 before buying the DW511. I went with the DW511 because as drills go, this 1/2" drive hammer drill will meet the majority of my drilling needs, which only occasionally include the hammer function of this hammer drill. If I had more frequent hammer drill requirements I would have chosen the DW520.

Dealt is Quality as Usual

Bought this for building a fence and driving some large lag screws. Worked flawlessly and just as I expected. Wish it came with a little case as some of the cordless do.

Good for the price

The hammer drill performs as it should. The only issue I had was the handle sliding down on the chuck and not realizing it.

Went for the cheaper model for once...

It happens every time; I'm looking to finish a project and I need to pick up 'the right tool'. There I am, looking at the wall of hammer drills and I can't decide between the cheaper one that will work or the more expensive one because it does X/Y/Z or made from adamantine. This time I went with the cheaper DeWalt and I wasn't let down in the slightest. This pushed a 1" masonry bit through a concrete filled cinder block like it was butter.

It got the jobs done & will be used for more.

Outside of box should list accessories needed/recommended to use the tool.

Good Basic Hammer Drill

Overall, I am happy with my purchase, and I think this is a pretty good drill, espeially for the price. I have only used it twice, and it got both jobs done. However, it did seem to struggle with one of the jobs I was using it for, and it was getting pretty hot by the time I was finished. If you are going to demand a lot out of a drill, or use it for some heavy duty jobs, you should probably go with a more powerful model. Great drill go ahead and buy it

Good drill for the money ($79). Bought it to build an arbor. Was drilling 1/2 holes through 2X12's that were attached to 6X6 posts. Had a concern that it would not drill easily through the pressure treated wood but that was soon put to rest. The drill had no problems. Good for what I needed and look forward to using it more often.

Does what it's supposed to!

I purchased this to attached 2 2x4s to concrete stairs and a concrete pad. The hammer drill worked well in drilling clean holes (I only needed 10).

Great Value

I bought this to drill 5/8" holes through a 10" concrete retaining wall. It worked perfectly. No strain and bored through the concrete effortlessly and quickly. It comes with a keyed chuck and a strap for the key that I have to take a few minutes to figure out. Nice hammer drill.
