Metal chop saw

This is my second metal chop saw. The first burned ump the motor after several long cuts in 1/4" angle steel. I used these saws to cut angle steel and other like materials. I've used the Dewalt to make about 10 cuts so for in 3/16" X 2 angle steel without any issues. The saw bed holds the adjustment wrench (anilin type) to tighten or loosen the angle holing clamp on the saw. This is a nice feature.

Will not cut straight

PURCHASED THIS SAW FOR A PROJECT IN WHICH I WOULD BE USING 1 INCH SQUARE TUBING AND 2X4 TUBING. TRIED SEVERAL TIME TO CUT THE 1 INCH TUBING AND THE BLADE FLEXIS SO BAD IT WILL NOT CUT STRAIGHT. TRIED ANOTHER BLADE AND STILL CUTS CROOKED. BIGGEST JUNK I OWN.

Good saw for the shop

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It's pretty much like any other chop saw. Its powerful and of course shoots tons of sparks. Depending on the material the cut can wonder just a bit, but just take it easy and it shouldn't. It's been a work horse, plain and simple.

This dewalt metal saw is amazing, the motor is powerful and the cuts are precise and fast. I mainly use it for all my welding projects because is a tool that simplifies my work. The quality is good , ideal for heavyduty work style. I personally recomended , for anyone working with metals, basically the best.

Dewalt chop saw

Dewalt chop saw is exactly what we needed. It works great! The sales lady was extremely helpful in our purchase.

Tough and it’s a Dewalt

Used it to cut high density pavers and landscaping block. It worked perfect. Requires a large amperage cord and a 15 amp breaker.

Disappointed

I have had the saw for about a month and really put it to the test and made over 30 feet of cuts. I’ve tried 1/4”, 1/2”, and 1” thick steel plates. For my application probably wasn’t the best investment. Pros: It was cheap and I love the quick release on blades. Cons: If you put the motor in a bind then it will flip a 20A breaker. It struggles with power on 1/2” or thicker. Why put rubber feet on the base when they melt off? The base is made with thin steel and it burns easy. When...

Great grinder saw

Used it for a ceiling TV hang to cut Unistrut (cut some very heavy duty strut with very little effort). This is a great saw, and for the price you can't beat it.

Great Design

I have only used this saw to cut rebar, but it did a fine job. I love the carrying handle and the latch to hold it in the closed position.

Taking it Back

I bought this because I have alot of other DeWalt tools and have had very good luck with them. I tried it this morning on light weight 1 1/2 x 1 1/2 light weight square tubing and made 8 test cuts. The blade deflected every time no matter how little pressure I put on it. Well built and comfortable to use, just can't cut straight.
