What Customers Are Saying
This chop saw receives mixed reviews. Many users find it powerful and well-made for cutting a variety of materials, though some report issues with accuracy and consistency, such as blade wobble and uneven cuts. Some also experienced electrical problems like tripping breakers. While capable for basic tasks, the saw may not be suitable for precision work or heavy-duty use. Careful operation and use of appropriate blades are recommended to get the best results.

Would RecommendI bought this saw and got a better deal from lowes because there was a store that had it on sale and lowes matched it plus another 10% and it qualified for another 5% when I checked out. this one is better than the one I bought from lowes a couple years ago. I only used it a few times but it seems like a good one.
14 inch chop saw
Would RecommendThis saw is a lot better than using a hack saw, I made a bracket in 3 mins versa a hack saw and file

Doesn't cut square/straight
Would Not RecommendTry as I did to like this chop saw, I didn't. Anything from 11 ga steel to 1/4 inch angle iron, 3/16 sq tubing, sched 40 - 1 inch iron pipe, it simply would not cut square or straight either 90 degrees or 45. Wobble perceptible on the shaft with or without the blade mounted. I expect the thin 14 inch blade to want to follow a kerf. I'm familiar with going ultra slow esp at first to get the kerf started square and then let the saw do the work. I did all that. Checked and rechecked the shaft, bush...
Very ergonomically designed
Would RecommendI was one of those people who would keep buying a cheap tool over and over again because i didn't think there were any difference in the quality. I am now a changed man, the user friendly design and the power if this tool is astronomical when you compare it to cheaper chop saws.

Though I have only used this saw on one project so far, I have found it to be exactly what I was hoping for. My project is a steel-stud BBQ island which is somewhat complex with many cuts. The saw works perfectly and is easy to use. The motor turns at an acceptably high rate of speed which makes for quick cutting at least through this type of material. There has been virtually no blade wear either. I looked at the 2 "slightly cheaper" versions of this saw and I am really glad I chose this partic...

Some people don't know how to use a hot saw
Would RecommendFor the life of me I cannot figure out how someone can deflect the blade until it contacts the table or burns it up after one use. Only thing I can figure is they are sitting on it when cutting 5" solid stainless. I've been a fabricator for 20 years and have had my fair share of "time" on a hot saw. Granted it's not a $1500 saw but on the same token, it's not a $1500 saw. Don't expect it to perform like one. For home/light industrial use this saw is great. Great power and sturdy. It will not fl...
Great Saw - Great Value
Would RecommendEverything works great. This saw is easy to use, is a great value, and the cuts are clean. The only imperfection is the blade has some transverse wobble (I don't know if it is the actual blade or bearing in the saw). My work around for this is I start the cut real slow so I establish a groove, and then I complete the cut.

Excellent
Would RecommendI own this and another 'off brand' chop saw. I always turn to this one. It has a strong motor and effortlessly cuts through anything I have thrown at it. The head locks in the closed position to make carrying simple.
Vise Issue
Would RecommendFor the price this saw is fine, EXCEPT for the Vise, the vise uses Machine Threads and has a tendency to bind when clamped down. Dewalt should be using an Acme Thread which it does on their more expensive models. Replacement parts seems to be not available to replace the vise also.
Good saw
Would RecommendThis is a good saw with the expensive diamond blade. The motor does heat up with the cheap blades. Spend the money on the good De Walt diamond and it cuts through stone pretty well. I did a 28x 22 foot patio with it. I bought a wood saw blade for it now and have started using it for framing.
will not last
Would Not RecommendI have purchased 2 of these saws in the last four years. They do not last!! I only use them for occassional cutting around my shop if used for anymore then a half hour at a time the motors will heat up & burn out.I have had great luck with all other dewalt products
