Solid Bit Holder

Very solid bit holder, good magnetic hold. Mid point is rather large, so can cause some issues with tight spaces, but overall not a major concern. Holder seems to be solid quality but time will tell.

Magnet is not very strong

This unit does not have enough magnetism to hold a screw in the vertical position. It feels good and holds the bit well, but not a screw. It has a good feel and the case spins well in your hand.

It works

Unless I am working in a tight space, I usually use a bit holder just to prevent interference when driving screws, so this bit holder works OK for me. It is heavier and thicker than standard ones, and definitely absorbs some of the torque that one would want applied to the fastener itself. I found that at the completion of driving screws (with a drill/driver, not an impact driver), this device would be internally twisted a full 90 degrees. Follow up to previous review.

I am a Lowe's Loop reviewer. I wrote a previous review and this is after using the Vortex bit holder today for only the second time.. It is absolute junk. It was ok setting screws into drywall but today I had to bore out two broken screw heads on my wife's jeep. I was using titanium bits designed for this purpose. Within five minutes the Vortex bit holder started yawing and the thing became useless. I stress, this is what the thing is designed for. Into the trash.

best bit holder ever!

I've owned just about every brand/type of bit holder ever made and was never satisfied with any of them. This one is the answer! It has every feature, and then some, making it priceless in my tool box. I'll be getting an extra one to have on hand or use in another drill.

Nice

Nice bit holder. Holds bits firm and in place. Easy to use a d switch out bits. It's a bit bulky to get into toght spots, but thats the only flaw I could find.

Excellent tool

This is a great idea the shock absorbing bit holder lessons the chance of damaging screws when using an impact driver. I would recommend this to anyone.

Handy Bit Holder

I prefer using "bit holders" so I can swap bits quickly. This one has several useful attributes. Most importantly, it holds the bit securely, but the bit can still be removed by hand, without tools. It uses both a magnet and a retention ring. You have to pull fairly hard to remove a bit, but I could extract even short 1" bits by hand, without too much of a struggle. Must have for impact drivers

This is must have if you own impact driver and bits. It prolongs life of your bits and lets you reach hard to get to spots. This bit holder has magnet inside so bits won't fall out. Most importantly is it absorbs shock from impact driver and extends life of any bit you're using.

Better than I hoped

This little bit holder surprised me. I usually don't buy magnetic bit holders, as they never last. I have always used the quick release bit holders. At least, I did until now. This is a solidly built little bit holder, and has a bunch of built in features that you can't see that help your bit not slip or jump on the screw head. It does what it's supposed to

It's a good bit holder, but I am not sure about extending the bit life part. Tested it on several different wood/concrete surfaces, using both drill and impact with the appropriate screws, and while everything went as expected, what I didn't expect (given the purported tech) is the bit to come out as it normally does, with shavings and nicks in it. I will definitely keep using it and I believe it is worth the money if it *does* save the bit life. But, it is hard to tell from only having it fo...

Great tool!

We have used this with our screw tips and it works really well. Holds the tip in place very well. I would recommend this product. Made well and does what it is intended to do.

It works.

I didn't really see anything amazing about this. It seemed to function like others I've seen, but it does get the job done and hasn't bent or broken. I don't use this a ton by any means with an impact but it looks like it will hold up pretty well.

Handy bit holder

The Crescent Apex impact rated magnetic bit holder has a good weight to it and seems to be made from high quality materials. The finish is nice with no rough surfaces. I found that the bit holder has a very tight fit for bits which is helpful since it keeps the inserted bit from wobbling around. In one of my photos I am pushing sideways on the bit and it has almost no noticeable deflection. I found that the bit was less likely to strip the fastener as a result. So definitely a plus for that....

It’s a magnetic bit holder, thus far, I haven’t broken a bit while using it. Not sure if I would have broken one without it either though. Seems to be well made.

Nice weight

Item has a nice weight to it. It keeps bits tight to prevent from slipping. Attaches easily to screwdriver and I will probably reach for this item over and over again

This bit holder is madre very durable. It has an impact zone that relieves stress on the bit to ensure longevity of your bit. It is a solid buy at a decent price point.

Nice bit holder

This Vortex bit holder has a nice magnet that hold bits snugly. It is true and rotates smoothly in my impact drill. This is better than other bit holders in my tool arsenal.
