What Customers Are Saying
This impact bit holder features a strong magnetic tip that securely holds bits in place, preventing them from falling out. The rotating outer sleeve allows for controlled and guided screw driving, while the dual impact zone absorbs shock and vibration to protect bits from premature wear. The sturdy, impact-rated construction is suitable for heavy use. Users report it helps prevent stripping of screw heads and extends drill bit lifespan, though the exact claims are difficult to verify. The main drawbacks are its bulkiness, which can make it harder to use in tight spaces, and the strong magnetic grip that can make shorter bits difficult to remove.

Finally a tool to help this novice have fewer stripped heads. Had several projects going on at once. Had to screw deck boards back down, as they were lifting. This tool allowed me to screw them down without getting the metal shavings I typically get. The magnetic tip is a great extra feature, as I often lose a lot of screws. Look forward to using it more.
Great tool
Would RecommendI added this bit adapter to my kit I keep for the farm projects I have to do on a regular basis. I found bit holder nice because it holds bit in place securely. It is quick to change out tips and it has a little absorbing function. All around nice addition to my Apex kit.
Pretty cool looking gaget!
Would Recommendgadget! So I've used this bit holder a bunch in the last few days. I wanted to make sure I was doing it justice. I have used it on every kind of bit known to man. It seems to work pretty seamlessly. I only found one flaw that my bit does seem to drop put of it upon random occasions. I think it's because they are just smaller. Overall I would say I love using this holder.
nice look and feel
Would RecommendStarting at the very start, the packaging on this item is excessive and really requires scissors to open safely. Other than that it's a nice item with a quality feel. The sleeve you hold to guide your bit is nice and thick and spins easily even under load. The bit holder is snug but also it's easy to change bits. I've not had a chance to test it on high torque fasteners yet but based on the feel of the tool I think it will be up to the task.
Good bit holder compared to the competition
Would RecommendWorks well. Spins really smooth. With its large size, it's easier to hold onto for added stability. I've only had it a short time, so I can't speak to its durability. It does seem built to last though.
Nice Bit Holder!
Would RecommendI replaced my existing 1/4 inch bit holder on my cordless drill with the Crescent Apex bit holder. It works well and holds the bit with a strong magnet. The magnet holds the bit without a problem but doesn't hold the screw. The bit holder does seem to help driving the screw and you can use the metal sleeve on the outside of the holder to guide the screw. The unit works well with an impact driver. It states it has a limited lifetime warranty.
Crescent Apex Magnetic impact bit holder
Would RecommendThe bit holder is far bigger than my old one, around 2" long. Two main features that impressed me. Firstly, the magnetic is really strong, it's firmly hold the bit head during usage. Even i drop the tool, the screwdriver bit still firm in position. Secondly, when you use the drill, the outer shinny metal part is not moving with the bit. It allows you to hold the tool in position you want. I will definitely recommend this bit holder to others.
Useful and quality tool
Would RecommendThe Vortex magnetic impact bit holder did not disappoint. Packaging says it will make your bits last longer. I was sceptical of this. I was surprised, it held up to its claim. It's also a great size. Not too big or too small. Definitely a tool worth the price. Very happy with it.
Don’t buy it

Bit Holder So So
Would Not RecommendI really wanted to love this product to preserve my bits, but unfortunately it didn't meet my expectations. At times the bit wasn't secured in the holder and it would spin. The magnet didn't seem as strong as depicted. It's a great concept, but for what I was using it for, it didn't hold too well.
High quality and easy to use
Would RecommendThis bit holder is really well built and appears that it would be durable on a job site. The hold on bits is excellent (not so for many bit holders I've had) and works very smoothly when drilling with standard or impact bits. I used this on some decking and the feel was smoother than with a standard bit holder. Overall, this is much better than most bit holders, even without the bit life claim.
Great for fast loading
Would RecommendThis tool is great as a speed loader. And, the magnetic end makes sure you won't lose a bit. It's really high quality, and I get the impression this will last for quite a while and help extend the life of my bits. I'm a huge fan of this. I would highly recommend.
An interesting concept in bit holders
Would RecommendI tried the Vortex with a variety of different bits (long & short Philips, square drive, & socket adapter). It definitely has a positive grip on the bits, in fact with a short bit it can be very difficult to remove the bit from the holder. I was not able to verify the main product claim "Makes bits last 500X longer" but it definitely softens the impact of the driver. This was very noticeable when I was using a 1/2" socket in the holder.
Magnetic bit holder
Would RecommendPersonal unpopular opinion is all tools should be magnetic. The bit holder in my opinion isn’t any different than any other bit holder other than the fact the shaft free spins im unsure of the purpose but love that it is magnetic.
Great addition to the tool box
Would RecommendI used the impact adapter while I assembled a metal carport it was absolutely awesome because of it being magnetic , it’s has a very secure fit of the screws and really speeds up the process without having to hold the screws
Great holding power
Would RecommendI don’t use a driver very often but when I need one , this will be my helper by choice. I tested it on holding screws of different sizes. The bit holding power is great and the magnetic holding is good for small screws. I like this bit holder !
Holds driver bits securely.
Would RecommendAnother quality product by Crescent! Holds bits securely. Impact rated for extra life. The 'Dual Impact Zone' sleeve spins allowing the user to 'guide' the screw during use.
Well Built and Work
Would RecommendThis bit fills well built and has a bit of heft to it. I ran about 100 screws and it worked well with no issues. One note of caution is that the bit does at a good amount of length to the end of your drill so it's not a tight spaces application. Of course, you can use it with a right-angle drill and a short bit in it if need be. Overall, I like it and will keep putting it through some use and will update my review if it falls short but I think it will last a good long time.
Seems Good
Would RecommendThis is a good solid bit holder, and works with my cordless drill just fine. Time will tell how well it holds up after more use. Seems like good quality to me.
Good, strong, bearing design.
Would RecommendThis impact bit holder feels really sturdy. I've used standard bit holders before and this one is quite a bit heavier and the roller on the shaft appears to have actual bearings inside it so there's not wobble or play while you're holding it. The captured magnet does an excellent job of retaining the bit; however, I will say that maybe it does too good a job as sometimes the bit is difficult to remove from the holder after use (it might also just be the bits I have on hand that are the problem...
