What Customers Are Saying
This impact bit holder features a strong magnetic tip that securely holds bits in place, preventing them from falling out. The rotating outer sleeve allows for controlled and guided screw driving, while the dual impact zone absorbs shock and vibration to protect bits from premature wear. The sturdy, impact-rated construction is suitable for heavy use. Users report it helps prevent stripping of screw heads and extends drill bit lifespan, though the exact claims are difficult to verify. The main drawbacks are its bulkiness, which can make it harder to use in tight spaces, and the strong magnetic grip that can make shorter bits difficult to remove.

Would RecommendThis is a very well made bit! The magnet holds any bit very well. I like that it is so snug in there that the bit doesn't wobble around. I definitely Recommend this!
It Really Works
I have used this to screw into wood, concrete and various materials. Also used it as a nut driver. It truly works well. After a month of use the #2 Philips bit is is unfazed. Last pic shows with and with out. The only drawback is it prevents u from running in tapcons and concrete board screws, as the holder absorbs the impact ability of the impact driver. For sure you will save big on replacement bits.
Quality Bit Holder
Would RecommendThis impact bit holder feels like a high quality, solid item. The bits I tested fit perfectly and did not fall out...in fact you do have to pull on the bits with some force to remove them. The silver collar spins freely so you can hold it while driving a screw and it won't mar a surface if it's touching in a tight spot. Inside the collar there is a mechanism that absorbs some of the shock of the impact driver to preserve the bit's life up to 500x...I would need to use it for quite some time t...
Made the job go better.
I have been installing a paver path in the back yard. I was having trouble getting the screws to countersink with the drill alone. The Crescent bit holder made the process easier and more effective.
Great Spin and Solid Build
Would RecommendI highly recommend Crescent Apex’s bit holder. I have used it now for about 6 weeks and found it to be highly durable and an overall great piece to my set. First I noticed was how solid and durable it is built. It can take a good lickin’. The magnetic part is strong enough to keep the bit in place, and unlike other brands, the bit does NOT fall out. The shaft is also long enough to comfortably grip. I have really enjoyed this bit and so far have out about 60 hours of use into it.
Strong and straight
Would RecommendI chose this specifically to be used with a battery powered impact drill. The bit is held tight and I don't see any signs of the inside of the shaft wearing or being rounded out. The magnet is stronger than other I've used in the past therefore hold bits securely when pulling away. Another thing I checked how straight this was with a drill, turns out my chuck was slightly bent, not the bit holder. The other nice thing is that the outer housing turns so it can be held to help the initial stabilit...
great but holder. robust.
Would Recommendnice, robust bit holder. not too bulky. fits the drive bits nice and securely into it - no worries about your bit falling out. i have not experienced a broken bit to this point.
Bit holder with impact features
Would RecommendThe Crescent Apex - Magnetic Impact Bit Holder Individual is a nice well made, albeit large framed, bit holder with impact rated features and claims to make bits last longer. It is a little large for my uses, but does function well the times I have used it. I have a powerful driver and frequently can snap the flutes off hardened phillips' tips using a conventional magnetic holder. I haven't broken one yet so I'm calling good on the manufacturer's claim. I've also noticed a usable increase in lev...
Interesting test results!
Would RecommendI was curious if the Crescent Apex Vortex bit holder actually reduces bit wear. Being I didn’t have any large projects in the near future I performed a comparison to a standard magnetic bit holder. For the test I used 25 four-inch (4”) construction screws and dry piece of scrap 6” x 6” pressure treated wood. A fully charged 20-volt ¼” impact Driver was used for both bits. Each bit was tasked with driving the 25 four-inch construction screws into the 6 x 6 and then backing all 25 out. Surp...
Excellent Tool...
Would RecommendLooks like Crescent has another winner in the handy tool category. It can certainly be said that there are a lot of small impact tools available for all sorts of tasks. If a fastener needs to tightened well, an impact driver is the answer. This Vortex Bit Holder by Crescent is a first-class way to attach the bit to you impact drill. It’s made for ¼” size bits. I used an adapter to attach a socket to tighten nuts on a bed extender for my pickup. Really looking at the holder revels some appeal...
Does the job
Would Not RecommendIt holds bits well but doesn’t have a strong magnet for screws. I like one that has a sheath to help guide at times. But it does the job overall. I will use it in a pinch.
Handy bit holder
Would RecommendThis bit holder is great to hold the bit in place while the screw is being started. Without the bit holder, the screw tends to jump to the side and either fall off or start crooked. I have not had any bits to strip out the screw head yet. The magnet in the bit holder holds the bit firmly in place without it falling out. With the Crescent brand name, I expect this tool to continue to give great service for many years to come.
Handy magnetic impact bit holder!
Would RecommendThe Crescent Vortex Bit Holder is definitely a lifesaver when it comes utilizing impact bits with screws. The bit holder while a little bulky, does feature a dual impact zone which is like a recoil that reduces the likelihood of stripping out bits and screw heads. I sure could have this when I was rebuilding my deck as I ruined quite a few torx bits and screws. The magnetic tip keeps bits securely in place. The packing states that it extends bit life by 500X, however, I cannot attest to that as ...
Very durable!
Would RecommendI put this Vortex bit holder through its paces driving dozens of 3 1/4" deck screws. I didn't notice and appreciable wear on the bit or the screws, which is impressive. I can't confirm if I would get 500x life or not. I do feel it does extend the life of the bit. The main drawback is the size of the holder. It is much larger in diameter than my other bit holders, which may pose a problem in tight spaces. For most of my projects the size isn't an issue so I will likely get a lot of use out ...
Simply the Best. Better than all the rest!
Would RecommendOutstanding little tool! With this I am able to make less expensive bits do things and not get destroyed while they’re doing it. I used it going into a brick wall and my cheap bit wasn’t damaged. I like it!
The vortex bit holder 500x is a very good and vers
Would RecommendI have used the vortex bit holder for various types of jobs around my house and garage. Currently I installed cell tapping screws into the metal frame on my trailer to secure the plywood in place. Every project I have used the bit holder on has been a success and the bit holder appears to prevent damage to my bits.
Well made and takes a beating
Would RecommendWorked like a champ with my impact driver. Seems very well made compared with the run of the mill big holders you find in big box stores. Obviously there’s not really any way to prove a claim that it makes bits last 500x longer, but it does seem to reduce fatigue on your wrist a bit compared to not using an add-on holder with your bits.
Magnetic Impact Bit Holder Individual
Would RecommendBecause of a medical condition, I am not able to be on my feet for an extended period of time. I really want to try this item and will review as soon as I can get back on my feet.
No complaints
Would RecommendThe crescent apex vortex magnetic bit holder has worked well. The biggest claim is that it can help you bits last longer, which is crescent apex vortex magnetic bit holder to be determined. I can attest to the fact that performance wise, this bit holder is great. Power transfers smoothly from drill to bit to screw. Other magnetic bit holders feel harder and grittier, and seem to do more damage than help; the crescent apex vortex magnetic bit holder doesn't have the same problems.
Handy tool to have in your toolbox
Would RecommendGood tool to have in your toolbox. Already found a good use for this bit holder putting together some toys that were purchased for the grandkids for Christmas gifts.
