Would Not RecommendWhoever it is claiming that this fitting will work on 5/8" hose is not being honest. No way it would work on the 5/8" hose I needed to repair. If you want a 5/8" hose fitting GET a 5/8" hose fitting. Not one of these "one size fits all" things.

Would Not RecommendThis is cast aluminum or pot metal and plated with a yellow metal. When attached to a brass or bronze fitting, it will corrode and ultimately disintegrate. After one year attached to a hose bibb, it was corroded so badly I could not remove it. I shouldn't have worried, though. Two years later it had disintegrated so badly it fell apart. Dissimiliar metals in contact with each other in the presence of water will experience galvanic corrosion. Consider this a disposable, single use, hose ...

Would RecommendGood repair fitting for a damaged hose. I put a couple rounds of good tape around the clamp just for safety that hose clamp can cut you before you know it, otherwise a good option rather than pitching the hose.
