What Customers Are Saying

The product is generally considered an unreliable and ineffective tool for removing water heater elements. The majority of reviews indicate the wrench is poorly made, does not fit the heating element nut properly, and often slips or rounds out when trying to loosen the element. Many customers recommend using a standard 1.5-inch socket instead, as it provides a tighter and more secure fit. The main issues cited include poor quality and construction, loose and imprecise fit, and the need to use additional tools to complete the task. Overall, the consensus is that this specialized wrench is not worth the frustration and a standard socket is a better, more reliable option.

Wrench jumps of nut.

Would Not Recommend

1st. the wrench is to short. 2nd. The metal flex's which results in it jumping on the heating element nut. Very poor quaity. Ended up having to purchase 1/2" drive socket and an 8" extention, that worked perfectly.

My mom always said if you can’t say anything good, don’t say anything at all. But Lowes asked for it, so…. Poorly sized socket. You get what you pay for. Borrow or pay for a good one.

Works GREAT!

Would Recommend

It's a simple but functional 'socket.' A lot cheaper than purchasing an actual socket you'll never use on anything else. No issues removing or installing the water heater elements with the socket and BOY! Did I save a fortune as apposed to having someone else do it for me. Changing the water heater elements is a very simple task, kill the power to the water heater, shut off the incoming water and drain the tank. Verify the power is OFF before proceeding. Remove and replace the elements.

I thought it was a bit to big to unscrew the water heater element. But it did worked, even though it was a little loose over the bolt.

Worthless- Just buy a 1 ½ inch socket

Kept slipping off and bent a screwdriver trying to break element free. Socket and impact gun popped it right loose.

PB Blaster, this tool and a screwdriver

Would Recommend

Make sure electric is OFF. Use tester, spray rusty elements with PB Blaster, use this tool with screwdriver, use phillips to disconnect wites. They can return to either slot. Make sure tank does not have hot water and drain it. Take your time and replace. This tool is necessary.
