What Customers Are Saying
The product is generally considered an unreliable and ineffective tool for removing water heater elements. The majority of reviews indicate the wrench is poorly made, does not fit the heating element nut properly, and often slips or rounds out when trying to loosen the element. Many customers recommend using a standard 1.5-inch socket instead, as it provides a tighter and more secure fit. The main issues cited include poor quality and construction, loose and imprecise fit, and the need to use additional tools to complete the task. Overall, the consensus is that this specialized wrench is not worth the frustration and a standard socket is a better, more reliable option.

Get a socket instead
Would Not RecommendThis might work on newly installed elements, but doesn't work for elements that have been in the water heater for a while. It has minimal contact area, slips easily, and didn't budge my elements that were 20 years old. Got a 1 1/2 6-point socket and took my elements out easily with a breaker bar. Save your knuckles, get a socket instead.
An utter piece of garbage
Would Not RecommendThis is a waste of time and money. Do not buy this. Get a 38 mm socket and a breaker bar. The metal is thin (even thinner than older ones - my dad has one which also doesnt work). It is easy to remove an element with a 38 mm socket and 1/2" drive and breaker bar. Dont waste your money on this.

As advertised. Makes replacement easier
Would RecommendI wish the socket part was deeper. I did like how you could put a screw driver in as leverage.

Not for older water heaters...
Would Not RecommendAbsolutely useless for older water heater coils. Not enough torque to loose a heating element that is 7+ years old. Should have just purchased a proper 1 1/2" socket set

Mostly worthless
So I got this for around $6. When I went to use it, it kept slipping off element. There was at least 15 degrees of play before this wrench engaged the hex on the element. Fearing I would strip the hex I went back to Lowe's and bought a 1.5" socket. (1.5" is almost universal, but check your size.) I used my torque wrench and it was extremely easy. It could be done with a smaller wrench pretty easily. New socket was about $9, so for $3 dollars more I could have saved myself an hour of tryin...
