smelie water tank

i put the tank in. works fine. however i am now waiting for the oil smell to go away form our water. yep, the water has a oil smell now from the newness of the tank i supose. all that was done was take out the old an put in the new. has to be a new smell. going to give it a few more days before i talk with the store manager.

took care of the problem

when your water tank is busted, and you need water, you do what u have to to fix it. Our new water tank did just that, gave us water and helped our electric bill.

Easy Tanki Installation

The tank I removed was identical i.e. same manufacturer and was 12 years old. (I did a DIY installation of my entire water system at that time.) I replace the tank after determining that the bladder was in fact perforated (really expected it to last longer), but in addition to the perforated bladder the elbow at the bottom of the tank had completely eroded away (due to Erosion Corrosion) and was beginning to leak badly. Good product but should have been packaged better

I purchased the tank the night before the install was scheduled. It came out of the box with a dent up near the top of the tank. I am just hoping that won't make a difference in the lifespan of the unit. I didn't have time to return it to the store as the company that installed it were the ones that opened the box and I was watching so I know that it was dented prior to purchase. I think the manufacturer could have put some sort of styrofoam packing in that huge box to alleviate the tank's movem...

decent tank

I replaced a 12 year old tank that was an exact replacement. Not to bad for a DIY, took about 1.5 hours.

Great pressure tank for the money

The only reason I did not give this an excellent review is for the mounting nut on top is 3/8" Most holes in any pump that get mounted to the top of the tank are at least 1/2". Had to shim up a 3/8" to 1/2" sleeve and washer set to mount pump. Also the spec's listed were identical to my old pressure tank that I replaced except that the dome of this tank is 7/8" higher for mounting a well pump than my old tank. Apparently, the dome is more angular than a standard 37.75" tank and that get's you...

8 yr replcement

i had no help in the store to make this purchase. I found the tank like the one i had purchased 9 years ago. I found a truck to haul it to the front of the store. Upon checkout the cashier asked if i needed help to load the tank in my vehicle.being the same unit there was no need for plumbing changes.

The tank is made by A.O. Smith in the U.S.A. for Lowe's brand Utilitech that is why I made the purchase.

A DIY Project For A Saturday Morning

If you have done plumbing work as a DIY project this is within your skills.The fittings are standard. A DIY person already has the tools. Pipe compound and an air pressure gauge are necessities. You'll need an air compressor or air tank to adjust the air pressure in the tank depending on the setting of your pressure switch. A big plus for me is this is made in the USA. Bladder failed within 8 months of use

Our old tank went out and we purchased a 36 gallon tank from Lowes. Our plumber installed it in June of 2015. The bladder failed yesterday (January 28, 2016). Very disheartening as it couldn't have happened at a much worse time. We called the company and they were great in that they offered new tank and told us how to contact Lowes. A good buy

I had zero problems with the install of this tank. It seems to be well made and hopefully will stand the test of time. The plastic base could be a little thicker. My old tank had a metal base, but had rotted out.

Good deal for the price

2nd one over the years, no big issues but as they say nothing last forever. I had a 32 gallon tank and increased it to 52 gallon tank due to high water usage. Tanks are well built and very easy to install.

Installation was easy.

This product has a 5-year guarantee but I expect it to last at least 10 years. It was easy to install and immediately works fine. Time will tell the rest.

pressure tank

the tanks are of poor quality the fitting on the bottom breaks around the base causing the tanks to have to be changed. The tank also comes with a plastic stand which doesn't hold the tank in place letting the tank move when pump comes on. If you purchase one of these tanks and you have room it's would be better to have the side mount tank instead of these tank with plastic stand and hookup on bottom. this is my 3rd tank with in a year and a half when this tank goes it will be the last one of th...
