good but a little tricky

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I tried this wooden rat trap to catch critters in my garage. I didn't know what was in there, but I knew it was something that shouldn't be there. I put the bait of peanut butter and bird seed mixture and set the spring loaded trap. Does the job!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I loaned my Tomcat Rat Trap to a farmer friend of mine. He was complaining abut rats in an area where he stored grain feed. The trap was a total success! As of this writing he's caught 5 rats. How long he'll keep catching, not to sure. The trap is strong and powerful enough to kill very large rats. Mission of killing rats accomplished!!

Simple and Effective

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have used wooden Tomcat traps for 20 years. When placed correctly, they always work. I have found placing sticky bait under and around the trigger increases the traps catch rate.

Awesome, deadly trap

Failed to work

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The trap came without the recommended attractant gel, so I used peanut butter instead, as suggested, but for about a week the trap was just sitting there. A few days later, when I checked it again, the peanut butter was totally gone, as if an animal licked every bit of it, but the trap did not trigger. The funny thing is that when I tried to carefully pick it up, the trap snapped immediately. I cannot imagine that an animal (rat?) was so gen...

Large pests beware!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This trap was just the size I needed for large rodents around my house and garage. Too big for some moles and small mice. Easy set-up and disposal!

Good and Sturdy

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I like that the trap was much bigger and sturdier than most. The trap was used in a salon in the ceiling and it worked well. We will be able to use the trap a number of times. I will also go out and purchase a few more. The rodents are a bit larger than I have seen in the past. Thanks for the product.

Great Rat trap

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I personally don,t have rats but my mother in law does. she lives in the city so I got her the tom cat rat trap and within minutes this monster of a rat was caught! If you have rats you must use tom cast mouse trap any else is just toying with them. Highly recommended.

Finally caught the evasive rat

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have had a rat in the attic for about a month and have tried smaller traps to no avail. I tried this trap with a piece of chocolate pushed in to a mound of peanut butter and caught it the first night!

Made for Rats...Big Rats

Dangerous Product

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This product will snap back if not set properly. Not for the eldery you must have strong hands to set it. Also depending on the size of the rat your hands will come into contact with it when trying to release it.

"Build a better mousetrap."

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The other well known brand was sprung a couple of times without a catch. I don't know why unless this was a very intelligent rodent. We surmised it may even be a squirrel. Set out the Tomcat and the on first night caught a big fruit rat.
