Just installed my third U by Moen

Had two in my main bathroom and just added one to the guest bath. I like the voice activation and the precise the picture control.

very buggy app/software, ridiculously difficult

this product is ridiculously difficult to set up. Everything from the bad app, needing to unplug and replug in the unit every time you do an update to have it take effect (which is not mentioned in the manual). The manual has text that is disorganized and too small to read for someone with 20/20 vision. I have had this product for a year and it still does not properly work.

App is terrible

Haven’t been able to pair, I follow the instructions and it just times out.

Easy to Install with Apple HomeKit!

Overall this was a very easy install, but getting the controller to connect to the wifi network was a challenge, even with a mesh wifi setup. Now that it is connect I am very happy with the functionality, especially Apple HomeKit integration.

4th time reconfiguring due to updates

This is now the fourth time I've had to reconfigure the product and register it due to the updates that are pushed out for either firmware or software. Please figure out how to appropriately update technology without wiping the WIFI configuration and personalized setup. Its getting old.

I have installed several

I have installed several of these. I have had failures in 2 controllers but Moen provided good warranty support. I have always installed the controller on the opposite side from the shower head mainly so that it has easier reach in access without needing to get a cold water spray. The fact that they hot and cold inlets are reversed is an annoyance that adds unnecessary complexity to the install.

Good, but could be better.

I just bought a house that included these features and this product is good, but my fiancé and I have had problems with it a couple times already and we’ve only been moved in two weeks (product has probably been installed for 4 weeks). We have two of these in our dual shower, and for some reason one turns off and we need to continuously be resetting it through the back end wiring. It took about 2 hours to get it to link to my phone because my phone kept saying it couldn’t find the “MOEN- XXXXX...

Lack of support

Worked for 2 weeks. Now it turns on but no water comes out. I’ve been scouring the website for a fix with no relief in sight. Finally called the 800 number, spent hours on hold, and finally requested an automated call back which never happened. Very disappointing, and I have no shower to boot.

Connecting and keeping the connection is a nightmare. Can only connect with old ,out of date routers. Once connected the shower is great.

When the U by Moen is working, its a life changer. We have this configured in an Amazon Alexa environment with the ability to simply request that our preset be turned on using our voice. No one gets wet pushing the buttons, and it is a great overall experience. The issues began a few months ago when Moen added the direct Android and Apple Homekit updates. During the first update we had to entirely reset and rebuild the setup technically for it to function again. As a one time change in software ...

Moen App Does Not Connect

I am sure that this would be a great product if Moen did not tie a weak app too it to operate the options through your cell phone or other device. could not get the app to connect to the controller and actually work as advertised. Fix the app and I am sure this product would have much better reviews. I have tried removing and reloading the app several times and still no luck. For the price of this product , you would think that Moen would have a top notch app to run it; not the case here.

Great shower

The app is a little flaky and the interaction wiht Alexa is sometimes confused - have had to reset the contorller completely to get Alexa to be able to control it.

I bought the and three body spray for my master shower Reno job. All I can say it’s awesome.

Installation was simple, setup was simple, app download and setup was simple, Alexa setup was simple! Cannot believe how easy this was.

Best Shower System Ever!

I built a master suite in my house myself and this is by far the easiest valve to install, especially considering there are two shower heads. It's very simple, connect the hot water and cold inputs to the valve then run a pipe to each of the shower heads without having to run a lot of pipes to each mixing valve. And it's very easy to use and I can even start the shower from my bed and walk into a hot shower waiting for me!
