Convenient but short lifespan.

I purchased my first lock and it failed within warranty, company replaced with a new one. This one failed again and no warranty coverage if over a year. Average lifespan seems to be 1-1.5 years of use. Electronics warranty is one year, lifetime warranty is for finish and the manual lock for key that you do not use, so it is pretty much a useless warranty. awesome lock

just got our new lock installed. so incredibly easy to install and to set up. everyone now has their own codes. took less that a minute to set them all up. now thinking of doing this to all doors. love it!!!!

I bought this product from a box store and found it had been opened and things were missing. The company quickly mailed me a complete replacement which is now working well.

Best Installation Design of all Locks

I've had other digital locks by other competitors. Funky installation designs with wire management as it were an afterthought. The Kwikset 913 is thought out so completely the install is about five minutes, and the batteries are easily replaceable.

Easy diy deadbolt

It was pretty easy to install into door . Harder time removing old deadbolt than install new one . Also keeping with Kwikset key and tool to keep old key was awesome . No new set of keys . Also programming was easy . Didn’t want to go fully into smart locks with WiFi and still wanted to keep my own key . No worry if battery goes out I have key with me .

Very smooth reliable operation

Installed two months ago and worked great on our side gate. Unfortunately did not realize its an indoor lock, and with our torrential winter rains, the keypad stopped working, although the lock button still worked to electronically close after manually opening. Now that it dried out a week, it works again. Since it never claimed to be waterproof, advise using a rain shield for outdoor installations, or for covered doorways.

kwikset smart code lock

Purchased this lock over a year ago. Just replaced batteries in January only to start a yearly battery replacement plan. The batteries were still good after all this time of six daily uses. The product has worked extremely well for us, I'm fixing to purchase another same lock for the back door. Love the ease of installing and use!!!

Love Kwikset... have installed all locks with Kwikset Smartkey feature and can change all the locks with a different kwikset key (6 door and 3 zwave) in about 10 minutes: great feature if you have rentals. The warranty is second to none and the zwave works with my IRIS system faultlessly- have had a couple of issues and customer service was great in helping solving these issues. Thank you for a great product line!!!

Simple lock to install

Easy to install, and simple to add and remove codes. It works great for leaving your key inside or not wanting a child to lose a key.

I installed this at my brother’s home to reduce the need to carry a whole pocket full of keys. Who needs that?

1-year Electrical Warranty is not Enough

I purchased this unit in March 2016 and it worked really well for about a year. I noticed the unit was going through batteries like crazy, but didn't think anything about it. Well, if finally died. I called Kwikset Customer Service and was told the motor was out. The also told me the motor is part of the Electrical 1-year Warranty and that I would need to replace the unit. I will never buy a Kwikset product again, had I bought a Schlage, they would be replacing the unit as they have a 3-year Ele...

Not money's worth back cover sux

waste of money, useless back cover. No access to battery and reset button. Should have bought a diffrent brand, with access to reset button and battery pack. You need to unscrew the whole thing.
