Someone Breaking In

I'm just wondering if anyone else has had any problems with people breaking in with this lock on their door? It has been happening repeatedly to my deceased grandparents home. The factory default codes are all cleared out so I'm trying to understand how this keeps happening. You can enter the home using one code that is programmed or of course using a key. Bluetooth enabled only.

I thought i could unlock this from a mile away. Sadly Bluetooth enabled means that you have to be near by to lock and unlock the door.

Lock keeps failing

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We have the 913 Smartcode electronic deadbolt for 5 months and it seems that about once a month the deadbolt loses its mind. It will start locking itself over and over. I end up having to use the key to get in and then I have to take it apart so I can remove the batteries. Once I put the batteries back into it then it will reset and continue working for a couple weeks. I have replaced the batteries twice and that didn't seem to make a diffe...

Malfunctioned in less than 24 hours

Installed this deadbolt last night. Tested it multiple times. Worked in the morning for me, but when my husband unlocked it this morning it malfunctioned. It unlocked for him but then it kept trying to unlock even though it was already unlocked. It wouldn’t stop until he removed the batteries. Also, when it did work, it’s very loud.

Battery Pack

New lock

Good lock. I needed a new one because my old was was sticking, works well and rekeying was super easy

Good lock!

I like the look of this lock and once you understand how to re-program codes...it's better...ha! Customer Service was helpful...just have to be on hold a real long time. It's great not having to search for keys in your bag at the end of the day- so I do like it a lot. The only thing I would change is the back of the lock should have a flip or something to make it easier to change codes - as you have to use the button key in the back and to get at it you will need a small screwdriver - so that ...

Push Button Ease

This Keypad Deadbolt was installed on 2 outside doors to replace keyed deadbolts. The fit was exact for all hardware. Instructions to set the codes and to rekey the lock to match my existing keys were very clear and enabled the installation to go fast. The Satin Nickel finish matched my other Kwickset hardware. They have worked flawlessly for several weeks now.

Malfunction

I bought this 2 months ago, was easy to install as i was replacing a similar set as i could not erase the earlier code, the new lock is not functioning properly, had two episodes where it automatically stays in lock mode and keep trying to lock the door till the battery is removed or drained out

Easy to set lock

Easy to install. No problem resetting the lock to match existing home keys

Didn't Work

We choose this one because of the company name. Installed and worked for about a week and now we can't get it to lock with the electronic function. We are having to use a key which defeated the purpose of us purchasing this expensive lock. A $10 lock would have been a better choice if we had known that we would have to rely on a key.

Good unit, one minor downfall

This is a good lock, I use them on all of my vacation rental unit doors. The only issue with this lock is if you need to reprogram codes semi-regularly, it requires the removal of the back vanity plate (remove the screws) to access the programming button. If you are going to program a single code and not have to change codes, then this is a non-issue. I worked around this by drilling a small hole in the vanity plate inline with the button so I can press the program button with a paperclip or ...
