Uses batteries up really quickly compared to a gate house lock I have. Batteries die sometimes with no warning. Sometimes after you enter the code to unlock it will keep locking until the batteries are dead which leaves you locked out unless you have a key.

Terrible Quality

It worked fine for a few weeks. I tried it today, no power. I put in new batteries. It powers up for a couple seconds, then nothing. Don't waste $120 on a Kwikset lock!

This item is easy to install, and works great! Be sure to read the troubleshooting reviews and as long as it’s installed correctly, you shouldn’t have any problems.

stopped working after 2 and half years!

I bought this quickset smart code 913 touchpad electronic deadbolt and I have loved it for the longest time. The battery life was great and it was very user-friendly. But about three days ago this thing has quit and it will not take a code or unlock it’s almost as if the electronic moving parts inside have stopped completely. I bought brand new Duracell batteries and replace them twice and three days apart. Nothing is working and I’m very disappointed.

Battery Killer

I'm not really sure how this thing murders batteries every month, especially since we rarely use the door and it's even more rare that we use the keypad function. I wouldn't waste the money on this if I could do it all over again.

Initial first impressions are great

I purchased this to replace a failed electronic deadbolt from a competitor. Having used the two, I thought the alternative was slightly easier to install, though this wasn't too bad. But I do like features and aspects of this lock. The batteries are more conventional (AA vs 9v). The programming is simpler. There's no external "knob" to turn, it unlocks once you enter the code. Installer BEWARE

Bought this programmable deadbolt so that the family could enter through the front without a key. I've installed 3 other similar locks of a different brand so I was sure this would be a piece of cake. Boy was I wrong. The installation for this *should* have been simple, but I got to a spot where the instructions were vague, and the deadbolt was seeming to get stuck. Suddenly stopped working

I purchased this deadbolt approximately 2 years ago. Installation was straightforward and the deadbolt functioned well until this week, when the deadbolt would not engage and move when using the electronic lock button or and entry code. The device will make a low grinding sound, but nothing moves. Key use works, though not as well as before as the lock sometimes hits a sticking point before extra torque will turn it in or out by key. Poor

I've had three of these. The lights on the keypad on the first one wouldn't light up at night for nothing. After several phone calls & hours on the phone they said it was defective and sent me a new one. I had the same problem on the second one but decided to deal with it since it wasn't often that I was coming home after dark. But just a few months after having it, it stopped working. Worthless

Absolute garbage, i would give zero stars if i could. Item did not work straight out of the box. Spent three hours trying to problem solve. Electronics and wiring on this thing are extremly poor quality and tempormental. Dont waste your time like i did and go with the much higher quality schalge keylock brand.
