The kit fails to meet advertised attributes. Deficiencies include: 1) Only one mandrel that would not connect to the 1" hole saw; 2) there is no template for the door jamb striker; 3) the instructions refer to a step 5 but there is no step 5; and 4) the template was ruined when routing the plate was attempted.

cheap

poor instructions pilot bit has to be changed for second hole took a call to find out how to do it. overall just seems to be a cheap made tool should of got a dewalt.

DIY ready

My first attempt at door replacement and this tool made it simple, fast, and accurate. The YouTube video was a plus, as it really took me step by step.

The kit did everything I needed it too. Great product.

template ok the hole saws useless

template worked but it would probably not last for to many uses large hole saw barely made it through the first side of metal door and the arbor was in possible to remove so I couldn't use the smaller one had to go out and buy two new hole saws to finish the job I bought this thinking the quality would be better than a discount tool store across the street which sell basically the same kit for half the price I did finally get the deadbolt installed but wouldn't recommend this product

Door knob drill jig

A case for it would be nice it's not professional grade bit for people who, like me would like abetter way of storing it

Good Stuff

This kit was very helpful to replace an old deadbolt. The new lock required a bigger hole. It really helped.

Stay away!!!

Seemed like a good ideal, Mounted it to the door and started to drill the 2 1/8" hole, the saw tried to cut into the plastic making the saw cut at an angle, bad thing about it is, you can't see the saw cutting the door or the angle. PROS: Great for set-up CONS: Bad for hole saw pilot hole.

Easy Door

Love this tool, made putting a new door knob in so simple and pain free. Will most likely purchase the adapter for metal too.

Dead bolt installation

Purchased this product to install new deadbolt locks. Tried it on an old door first and achieved perfect alignment. Price was far less than competitor brands and worked very well.

Do-It-Yourself

The hole saw kit worked great for me. I had existing holes in two doors but because of how long ago they were cut, they were too small for the new hardware. The kit prevented the hole saw from drifting and it worked perfectly.

Very good tool

Everything works well. The only thing that needs to be changed is the latch plate guide, which is made of plastic. It should be made of metal. Overall great, accurate product.

Jig is ok, other hardware is rubbish

After one door, the large hole saw jammed onto the spindle and I had to return it to the hardware store to remove it. Now I'm home and ready to cut the boot holes but the size of the thread on the spindle and the size of the thread on the small hole saw are completely different! Not impressed from a usually reliable company like Irwin.

Need clamp

Works but you need a C-clamp to prevent walking. Plastic guide is flimsy.

No Good

Should have spent the money on good unit. It is made out of soft plastic and moves around when drilling, also the depth guide moves too easily. Drilled a 2 3/4 back set and didn't realize it, need 2 3/8. Hinge guide is useless if installing square butt hinge.
