What Customers Are Saying
The Gerber Dime is a compact multi-tool with a sharp knife blade, useful package opener, and functional pliers and scissors. Many users praise its overall design, portability, and variety of features. However, some report quality issues with the pliers, scissors, and file. Despite these drawbacks, the majority of customers find the Dime to be a handy and affordable everyday carry tool for light-duty tasks.

I've had a couple of these little tools and loved them. They're great for a pinch or a light job. This works great for most light jobs. If you are going to use this for a heavy duty task get a "full sized" multi-tool that's what they are made for. If you want something small that will easily fit in your pocket to use for opening up small packages and tightening a loose screw here and there this is great. Holds up well have had mine for almost five years and still going strong. I've had to sharpe...

I have read the reviews and many buyers are using the "key chain" multi-tool as a replacement for a real solid hand driver or plier. This multi-tool is meant to be used as an emergency, or a convenient pocket tool, when in need of something on the fly. For harder solid tasks, or an actual job for need for continuous use, say as a theatre technician, purchasing the standard Gerber multi-tool is ideal, as the construction and grade of material used is of a higher standard, thus stronger. Anyone no...

Not worth a "dime"
I have had other "mini" multi tools in the past, and the Dime is likely the worst! The quality doesn't come close to the SOG multi tool I lost or the Leatherman. I still own a couple of Gerber knives and the quality is very good. The Chinese made Dime is a waste of my money. The pointy screwdriver tip doesn't fit well in a Phillips screw, and the file side of it is a joke. About the only possible plus to the tool is the pliers. Gerber's quality has really gone down from what it used to be!

Good little tool
I enjoyed this knife till the fat blade lock broke on it. That's why it gets 3 stars.

The only useful features here are the bottle opener and possibly the pliers for minuscule tasks. Come on Gerber, you can do better than this!

Great little multi tool I've had it for almost 5 years now. None of the issue like some of the other reviews. Even with using the screwdrivers on parts at an automotive plant, with them working just fine. Although it's starting to get a little difficult to open the players but what do you expect after five years of almost daily use. Like the bright color so it's not as easily lost ( I don't know how many times I've lost others that were as bright) some don't like the color but they make the same...

Although the tool was very affordable and compact, the pliers' teeth warped while calibrating a kitchen thermometer. The tool was convenient due to its compact size and selection of tools, which is why I gave it two stars. But, pliers should not deform while rotating the calibration hex nut on a food thermometer.

You know what would make it even better? A black and orange version! Something to remind me of... oh I don't know, Gerber perhaps? I know it has the logo, which is cool too, but orange and black should've been the first color scheme for this! Please? And then you can take my money. :D

Piece of junk. The flat screwdriver twisted the first time I used it, and one of the springs for the pliers is bent and gets worse when I use them. I've only had this thing for a week. What would otherwise be a great little knife is ruined by poor quality materials.

Nice and small, nice and lite. in total i count 8 tools, not 12. the part that attaches to your key Chain is not a tool, but gerber counts it as one. The knife, scissors and packaging cutter all have terribly dull blades. I used a magnifying lens on the fine edge blade, its rounded over and not even sharpened. easy to fix though. the file is a joke. for the money its not bad, if i needed a mini mulit tool id buy again. If i wanted a mini knife, id just buy that alone to get a better quality edge...

Careful with the pliers
I really like this multi-tool, compared to any others I've owned this one is versatile, the retail opener is quite useful. My only complain is that you need to be completely aware of how you close the pliers. The first time I did it, the skin between my forefinger and thumb got caught and well it hurt a lot. Something that got me by surprise is that the scissors work for left-handed people, I don't know if it was intentional or not but I trully apreciate it.

excellent concept, poor quality materials.
I bought the Gerber Dime because it was small and had all the stuff that I wanted, great to carry around on my key ring or take camping. The first time I went to use the pliers it broke in two, a small 1/8th inch nut was tougher than this plier! So I took it back and got another, the same thing happened again! The metallurgy is very poor, this time the store I bought from no longer carried it so to get it warrantied I had to send in which meant I had to pay for shipping, I decided it wasn't wort...

Had this for about a year, super happy with it. I carry it with me every day in the lighter pocket of jeans. Box / vinyl cutter is really useful day to day - never had one before. Used the pliers, file, tweezers and scissors pretty frequently - works well for something small enough to have with you all the time

I am on my third Dime in 6 years. I mostly like this key chain tool. My biggest complaint is the screws seem to come out and it falls apart. So I try to remember to tighten them once in a while.

Outstanding product. My son gave it to me on Father's day. Very happy. I had nothing that compares to it. Don't know if it will make in thru the pre-flight checks -- won't take the chance.
