Very Good Buy!

Bought this unit when power went out due to a major windstorm. Everything needed to get up & running was in the box ( even oil ) except gas and common hand tools. Set up was about one hour with one person. Lesson learned: dismount the battery to hook it up. The connection hardware is small, and the space tight if you don't. The 10KW portable is a very nice product. I appreciate the quality, appearance, and value. Product arrived on time and as advertised. Product was easy to assemble and started right up. Jsut in time

Have had the XG10000E for 2 days when the power went out. We have a well pump, furnace, electric dryer, as well as satellite TV, 2 fridges, water heater, microwave, lights, etc. This powers it all easily, just remember to unplug air compressors, that kicked out the breaker. Only problem was the factory forgot to bolt down the fuel tank. I need to get four flanged bolts and tap the holes. Also there was only one qt of oil, needs two.

Power to spare

Have had the XG10000E for 3 years now. We have a well pump, septic pump, furnace, electric dryer, as well as TV(s), fridge, microwave, lights etc.. This unit runs it all easily. We don't need it often, but it sure is nice when we do!! Only thing I would change would be to charge the battery automatically off the engine when it is running.

Excellent generator

I use xg10000e generator to completely power my auto detailing business. Always runs and delivers power. Only issue I ever had was with a breaker. I called generac an d the next day a technician came and fixed it. Overall a great product and would recommend to everyone needing a large amount of watts

Best Generator for the buck

I bought the XG 10000 basically for power outages at home. It will be used for other things as well. It came assembled with the exception of the wheels, the cushion mounts and the battery cables. The engine was already full of oil and the battery was charged. I filled it with fuel, added some sta-bil gas treatment and off we went. It fired right up and I ran it for a bit. axle problem

generally the generator was a great purchase. very easy to put together and get started. The only problem was the axle is two inches too short. They are sending me another one that i hope will be right., My concern is that it has been nine days so far and it still has not shipped!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You would think that a missing or damaged part would be shipped out pretty quick.Only took three days to get the generator shipped, why so long for missing parts??????????????????

Easy to start

This was my first experience buying a generator. I heard great things about a Generac so I was excited to find this one. My husband picked up and got it started with very little problems. There was a little air in lines, but after it cleared out, it ran smooth. There was not an owner's manual or the "maintenance kit" that they said would come with this generator. I have looked on line and can not find an owner's manual to print off. Not sure what was included with the starter oil and maintenance...

Help your local power company

Bought this on advice from a friend to handle power outages from hurricanes and snowmagedons. This generator can run all your essentials, a fridge, freezer, portable ac unit, some lights. We make one room comfy and can run a small microwave when needed or toaster. It's easy to set up, use and maintain. The price makes it worth it, if you go bigger than this go for a built in unit.

Runs Greats and meets our needs

Purchased this unit with a portable freezer to keep it cold while traveling. So far we have been very happy with this unit. Oil changes are easy; however, the air filter is a bit tricky to access.

Great so far

The generator was delivered on friday and I put is together and tested it on Saturday. Assembly was simple and everything seems to work as expected. The axle shipped with the generator was about 2 inches too short and would not allow me to install the wheels. Generac is shipping a replacement that I expect to receive in a few days and everything should be OK.

System would not provide adequate power to UPS sys

System, works, turns on easily with battery but was only outputting 97VAC when anything was plugged into it. Does not work properly, poor performance.

First, let me say how impressed I am to see Generac submitting responses to these reviews. That leaves a great first impression for Generac's customer service. After the last power outage lasting nearly a full week, I decided that I needed a generator to keep the fridge, freezer, sump pumps and well pump operational. Generator is fantastic for the price. Runs a whole unit for our business and still has additional power for anything more we need. We have no complaints!

XT8000e

First, if you go looking for this model on the Generac website, you wont find it...yet. I called Generac to ask a few questions about the XT8000E and the person on the phone could not find that model and had to refer to a supervisor. The supervisor informed us both, that this is a new model and that was why it wasnt on the web site yet. FALSE. Look for problems before assembly.

I had to speak with Generac and the store manager. The first generator : The recoil did not return the rope.The 12vdc charger socket was broken. Lowe's replaced the unit. The second generator: the fuel filter on the gas tank was torn. The back weather proof enclosure of the control panel was broken. The spark plug wire was broken, same as the floor unit at the store. Awaiting for Lowe's to replace this unit. Hopefully three times is a charm.
