Great features and reliability

This generator was purchased for power back-up for a community well providing water to 11 residential homes in a remote area. This generator provides reliable service and dependability during times of harsh weather conditions. It's easy mobility and minimal maintenance provides quick and dependable water service to our homes and residents during periods of local power outage.

My XG10000E has had a long term test, it passed

Extremely Reliable

After Hurricane Irma caught me off guard in 2017, I swore it would never happen again. I bought the 10000E. I set it up per instructions. Fired it up. Put it up in November last year. Haven't touched it until last Wednesday the evening that Hurricane Michael hit SW GA. Our power went out at 5 pm on the 10th. I turned it on. Powered my well, hot water heater and all my house. Not as good as my old Generac

My old Generac lasted for almost 2 decades and was easy to service. I just received this one today, put the wheels on, added oil, etc. First problem, there was no nut/bolt to connect the negative wires to the battery terminal. Either it wasn't included or it came off in transport--my guess is it wasn't included. I used a temporary solution to connect it and crank it. Heavy!

The XG10000E is very well built and the quality can be felt in how heavy the machine is. The generator has good tires but is difficult to roll over grassy areas. I was disappointed to learn that the hand grips on the handles are NOT glued on! This could be dangerous if someone is pulling backwards when the grips come off. The controls are well laid out. The manual does NOT tell the owner how much engine oil that the crankcase holds...only to fill the crankcase to the full area on the dipstick. W...

Really let down

I purchased this very expensive generator based on the well known brand name and the fact that it is American made. I used the generator 1 time...... yes 1 time. It started and I then stored it based on all the manufactures directives. I took it out and charged the battery and it wouldn’t start. It wouldn’t even turn over. POOR Custmore service from Generac

Less than one hour run time the plastic sparkplug boot cracked while it was running which cause the unit to shout down Called the customer service number for a replacement wire, they said I would need to drive 4 hour round trip to my nearest authorized Generac service place with the generator so they can determine if it is a warranty item,,,seriously for a $10 plug wire !!!!!!! 2.2 hours on it and alternator is burned out.

I purchased an XT8000E generator on 4/40/17. I was going to be used for backup power for my home. It only has 2.2 hours on it, only from starting once a month and letting it run for 10-15 min. I started yesterday and smoke was coming from the alternator. After shutting it off I noticed 2 of the 3 bolts that hold it on were backed out approximately 1/4 inch. Junk, customer service SUCKS

Bought this item on June 26 2018 by August 3 item was not working. Called Generac they gave me the number to a service center, they had me test for AC power, none present. Called Lowes they will not return item because has been more than 30 days. Said they would replace if I bought the extended warrenty. Called Generac and customer service rep told me to try reset the breaker but could not tell how to tell if breaker was tripped. Would not recommend for a boat anchor! Lowes Customer suppor...

Horrible customer service.

There was no hardware in the box upon opening it (7/23/18), and there was no sign that the box had been opened previously. First call to Generac the rep offered to ship the missing hardware the next day. 2nd call on Sat., 7/28 the rep said the parts were scheduled to ship the following Tuesday and could not be expedited. I received the package on 8/3 and it contained the hardware to attach just 0ne wheel. This is where I now stand, 3 weeks since purchasing the generator.

Awesome Generator

This Lowe’s exclusive has many features that the high end Generacs have.

Bought this generator generac xt8000.Had a transfer switch installed this weekend.the generator started fine,the only problem it had no power output. Coming sometime in July to repair it. I think we should get a new one not a repair.

Got it for standby, put it together but haven't oiled/gased as of yet. Hopefully I can give a great review if and when that time comes.

Hurricane Harvey

When Harvey blew up our home in Rockport Texas we happened to be at summer home. Told to get down here now but bring generator. Rushed out, bought biggest we could find of shelf at Lowe's. Took it to Rockport, unloaded, assembled which was easy, gassed it, oil, started first pull. It ran for 136 straight hours with no shut down, we just kept giving it fuel. Great reliable generator

I bought this generator because of Generac’s reputation. I sell and install their home standby generators and have found their products to be top notch. Have another smaller portable generator they produce and am very happy with both. This 8000 is a workhorse and the LED current usage display is really helpful.

Worst genset I ever had

I have XG1000E unit bought in 2012. Here is my experience with this unit - overpriced low grade components, junk. 1. It came with loose bolt inside alternator. If I wouldn't spot it and removed it with pincet it would have damaged the alternator or caused personal injury. 2. The carburetor is of very low quality, namely the the magnetic pin which opens the fuel line was rusted and not moving upon start. 3. The plastic shutoff valve leaks fuel in cold temperatures and if you have this situat...
