Good price, always starts but....

This generator was well priced. I bought it for home power backup because I couldn't afford the much higher priced permanent backup units. It always starts, which is great. But unfortunately the one I have won't return to the idle mode when the load is removed, and sometimes the 110AC sockets won't operate. I should have returned it within the 30 days. 2 years and going strong

This generator was bought to power our mobile food truck on a daily basis. It has been two years and 1300 hours with the generator still going strong, we run it at 80% load all the time with no problem. We use less than a half tank of gas to run it for three and a half hours. The only negative comment relates to the two braces bolted to the bottom of the generator frame, they bent and broke off constantly moving the generator everyday.

Great product

Received the unit and opened the box. Two parts missing, but not crucial to assembly and start up. Assembly was very simple. Unit started right up. Checked all outputs and everything was 100%. Called Lowe's for help on missing parts. The girl transferred my call to Generac Company. The person who answered was totally inept at finding the part numbers of the parts missing. Great Alternative to a Standby

Wired via my main panel with a generator interlock kit. I am able to power my entire home. (1,900 sq ft). This product has great features.

Although I thought this product was a bit pricey, I bought it for the reliability. It has more power than any other to run my home when the electricity goes out. My home is all electric so having a generator is by far a great investment. I would highly recommend this product. It's easy enough to start that my wife can do it - electric start (battery powered).

Works great

I got this for my food truck after some moron burned out the starter on my Champion at a charity event. I had another job two hours later so I was forced to buy another one. Went into lowes and got one of their credit cards and maxed that puppy out at 20% interest. Put it together in 5 minutes and it started right up. I use it daily and haven't had a hiccup. I haven't even changed the oil. I should get on that now but I have a couple more episodes of orange is the black and will get around to it...

Best investment ever!!!

We had a windstorm here in Michigan and I was lucky enough to get the last one Lowe's had. I also spent the money on a transfer switch. I couldn't be happier. I was able to run everything in my house as if we never lost power. The power was off for three days and it got below freezing. I purchased this generator to be used as a back up unit for my home. I was looking to purchase a whole house unit but decided on the XG10000 because is portable. I can take it to where it is needed (family members homes) if my power is on. When not in use I keep it under my work bench in the garage. I do need help getting it into my truck she is a bit heavy. Great so far and much quieter than expected

Problem From the Start

I bought this product based on all the great reviews but I was really disappointed. Every thing went well until I tried to use the 120 outlets and none would work. I called Generac's customer support and I was told that I needed to plug a drill into one of the outlets and have someone push the reset button at the same time and at the same time I needed to turn the drill by hand. Worth The Money

Was very easy to set up, had friend to help assemble wheel kit and handles, put oil and gas in attached battery cables, pushed electric start button, cranked first time right out of box! Have not had to use as back up yet. Have a 30amp transfer switch installed several years back for a previous generator. Would recommend this product if you are looking for a nice portable Generator that can do the job. Generac reputation in Whole home and Portable generators made my decision on my purchase.

nice generator but

this is a really nice generator but trying to get parts is crazy. called generac and they are totally useless they can not answer any questions. having a hard time trying to find parts for this.

defective unit

While using the unit i noticed that the engine was running at a very high rpm. I contacted Lowes and was told to contact Generac being that the unit was only 8 months old.I then called Generac and was told to take it one of their repair centers.the repair center stated that it was a defective unit and that it should be replaced. It has now been 3 months and many calls, but I still have not got a replacement generator and no one at Lowes or Generac will give me a straight answer.

Battery dies after 45 days

Bought the generator and hooked up to my house. The generator works great. I keep the battery plugged in and start the generator every 2 weeks to make sure all is well. This last time the electric start did not work. I hooked my lawn tractor to it and it fired right up so I know it's the battery. I bought this generator in April and the battery is dead by June? Lowes said they would replace it if I brought it in. What a pain, lets see how long this next battery last.

Brand New Product with Start Up Problem

I have had to return my XT 8000 Generac to Lowe's for repair. It is brand new with a start up problem that the kill switch is bad. The only way to turn the product off is to turn the gas off and run the carburetor out of gas.

Dirty Power

Purchased this 6 months ago and had an opportunity to use it due to a major power outage (late Dec 2015). Initially I plugged up my forced air gas heater, and it worked for maybe an hour and caused my unit to go in to fault mode. Needless to say we got a little cold during the 20 hours the power was out (thank god for a gas fireplace). Once the power was restored I had to call an HVAC guy out to repair the heater.
