Item is off line more often than on line

When I purchased my Generator I upgraded to the mobile link within six months and it seemed to work fine for the first year. After the first year it seemed to be off line more than on line. When it comes on line again, usually in the middle of the night, it sends multiple messages trying to catch up. Ethernet or bust.

Would Not Recommend

Remote monitoring and management should be handled by a web interface on a network card with an Ethernet port like any good UPS. No one that's very tech savvy wants your insecure cellular/wifi mess. We want to plug a cable between the generator and our network switch and manage everything else ourselves. Take a look at an APC network management card, make something with similar functionality but for your generators.

Disapppointed In Less than 24 Hours

Yesterday I connected my new smart generator to WI-FI, purchased the yearly monitoring plan and downloaded the Mobile Link app on my iPhone. I was excited to see my 22 KW show up on my phone via the app and everything was showing green to go. Today I try and access Mobile Link and the app doesn't work so I go to the web site and that also is not working. This is very irritating and there is nothing to indicate that either is under construction.

I have a MobileLink on my Generac. My Generator battery went dead sand it took them six days to notify me. They did get the communication from the un it but apparently no one w as at the other end. I have grave concerns about staying with them.

Good product, breaks quickly

I have 30 units throughout the United States on 22 kilowatt liquid cooled units. I have the email notifications go to a gmail account. I have filters for each employee depending on if there is an alarm, status change, fault, etc. The gmail account then sends emails out accordingly. Mobile link can’t be used on WIFI - come on!

I just built a new home and included a Generac 16kw backup. I can’t belive there isn’t the option for mobile link to monitor over your home WIFI, as well as cellular. Seems like just a money grab for the monthly fee for cellular. Maybe the excuse is it works during a power interruption? That dog doesn’t hunt! At a subscription price of $12.99 a month using a proprietary cellular service, you get a device that tells you if your generator is running. What a ridiculous concept and a money-grab for someone. Mobile Link does not provide timely notifications

On several occasions during the last year, the notifications (text and email) sent by Mobile Link showing a change in status by the generator have not been received until 24 hours after the event. For a service that promotes real time status and notifications, 24 hour delays do not meet that claim.

With MobileLink I can monitor what is going on with the generator at my beach home. It notifies me each week when the test run occurs and tracks the current status so that I know if the generator has had to run for a power outage.

Keeps me informed about conditions at my camp

The generator at my camp on Toledo Bend is used quite often. I live 100 miles away and the Mobile Link gives me a clue as to how bad the weather has been in the camp area (although many of the power outages are also caused by snakes, squirrels, and other critters). The only problem that I have with the ML is that Generac recently replaced a faulty generator. Ok folks, this won't cook your dinner, clean your house, or do your laundry but WILL give you the "peace of mind" with what's going on at your home. When the power goes out and your generator is working, this will notify you and give you time to react to any emergency and will both e-mail and text you if needed and that alone is worth it's weight in gold in my opinion. Generac has developed fantastic generators for the money. Sadly the MobileLink hardware and associated monitoring aren't all that. For the 250+dollar price tag the limitations are great.
