I love my Generac Generator and mobile link. The whole system just works flawlessly. It's easy to set up and nice to view at anytime on my phone. The app itself is very basic and seems like it could provide much more information. For instance, when it's running it would be nice to know either at what capacity (75%, etc. of max), or better yet how many amps it's currently pulling. This would be useful so that I know if I need to turn off appliances in my house if it is starting to max it out...

Nothing but issues.

Bought our generation through a authorized dealer and have had nothing but problems. After initial install generator would not start on automatic mode. After several weeks it was traced to a bad fuel solenoid. First power outage we had during a rain storm and generator refused to start. Traced it to a poorly designed emergency cut off switch on the outside of the generator. This sloppy switch is so weak that HAIL took out my generator by hitting the switch and killing power to the generator!!...

Rip-off mobile app

Would Recommend

My generator is only a week old. It’s already come on because of a power outage. It did a fine job. My complaint is that Generac is greedy. $50/year for their scantily featured mobile app? This should be free. I paid a small fortune for this generator, now they want $50/year for what? Very minor stuff. Not worth it, rude, and a total rip-off. Otherwise, the generator is a fine product.

My 22kw whole house generator has been in service for a year. It has been reliable throughout our Kalifornia power outages. Seem less and quick transfer of power. I'm generally quite pleased with my purchase. Awesome generator mobile link app not so much at all. I refuse to pay an annual fee for a perfectly useless app, that does not offer any features of value. We have not had a power outage since installing our 16kw ng unit. We upgraded to a 200 watt automatic transfer switch from the 100 watt that came with the unit. I tested the generator by turning the transfer switch main breaker off. It worked perfectly. When power goes off the generator starts a few seconds after. After a few second warm up the transfer switch switches from utility to generator power. After seeing that it ran everything without any issues, I turned the transfer switch main break...

Missing one feature for it to be great....

i have had my unit for a year now (20kw) saved me already twice from power failures! It works flawless... love it! However the app is totally useless and there is no way to program a rest preriod or a night schedule, meaning in the event of a 4 day failure the unit will run non stop even all night. Its a huge waste in fuel and noise during the night is not ideal. I wouls have like to shedule it to turn off at night or at least put rest periods... i cant even turn it off and on through the use...

Preparing for total retirement in our home

I ask Mr. Electric to purchase and install a whole house Generac unit. We now have an electrical generator for power failures,it does a self text weekly and constantly advises me that it is ready to generate power. Very Easy to Use

This makes keeping track of our generator much easier. We spend the winter far away from our home, and with this app we can see what's going on without having to get one of our neighbors to go over and check the generator for us. We know that it's completing the test run every week, and we can see that it's operating properly and that the battery is carrying the correct charge.

While we are very pleased with the backup generator, we are extremely disapointed with the Mobile Link product, capability, and pricing. After spending more than $15,000 to install a device, in this day and age, one would think it would be able to communicate its status and history to the homeowners via WiFi connectivity without incurring a subscription fee. My smart light bulbs tell me more than Mobile Link. Bottom line: love the generator; really feel burned by the Mobile Link marketing ...
