Awesome Generator!

I just got this generator and so far it seems to be a workhorse. It was easy to put together and get ready to use the first time. I still need to get my transfer switch wired up and then I'll be ready.

Purchased this to run our liquid pumps to load tankers with water/product. works the very best, starts the pumps with ease.

hard to move

I give this 17500E a 5 star rating. The only con I have is the portability. I have to move the gen. around. I mounted a heavy duty caster with brake the second day I owned it , this totally changed the portability, I can move it around with one hand. Also I believe the handle needs to be adjustable so you don't have to do a shoulder lift to get it rolling.

Ready!

I found the unit to be well made. As big as it was, it is easier to move than I thought it would be. Well balanced. All features are well marked. I purchased the unit for power outage during severe weather. This unit replaces a smaller unit that could not handle all of our needs. The investment will be worth it when we lose power again out here in the country.

Impressive machine

The product was shipped in strong packaging and in very good condition. The machine provides enough power to run all of the major functions in my home. I would strongly recommend this unit for anyone that needs larger power output.

Great home/business generator

We use our generator for special events and for backup purposes, not very noisy for its size/power, fuel efficient and very reliable, I would highly recommend the GP17500E!

I bought this for my ice cream store in Las Vegas and in the bad HEAT waves it work great it powered the whole store and some more. It was worth it!

Awesome Generator

We purchased this product for bed bug treatments. And will use it for many other projects. It works really great. Could not ask for a better product.

disapointed it didn`t live long

3.7 hours and it threw a rod out the bottom.Sad the first time it was used and it blew up.

Exceptional Product

The generator arrived in perfect condition. The packaging was outstanding. It took about 20 minutes from the time it was it was uncrated until it was running. It was connected to my 2100 square foot home and it ran the whole house. That included a 5 ton AC, electric clothes dryer, lights, ceiling fans, chest freezer, refrigerator, water well pump, TV's and yes even the microwave...................the whole house. Great unit for the $

I purchased this unit to power my home in case of a power outage. Hard to find a unit for this price with this much power. Easy to assemble and seems well built. Have not used it yet so really cant review the functionality.

Very Poor Cust Service !!!!!!!!!

Gen delivered and missing stabalizer foot Cust Service needs Major Improvement.. 4 Calls in and still no where not even a case # sent to my email . Try to ask for a supervisor and you are blocked. Thanks for your commitment to quality. No where on your manual does it say when you call in to have your serial # with you .. Works as expected, very happy

Purchased for house backup. Needed portablity with power for my situation. Unit performs as advertised when tested at 12kw , no-load to full load and v-v <3% voltage or freq variation w/ <5%thd. Runs my 4ton ground source heat pump ( has soft start) and 2 refrigrators plus rest of house minus range and dryer easly using the 50 A. connector. When The Power Went Out From Sandy I Ran 3 Refrigs, 2 Sump Pumps, The Boiler, 3 Tv's # Of Lights And Some From 7am to Midnight For Like 4 Days And Used About 10 To 12 Gallons A Day. Great Machine

Excellent value for the money

This new unit is replacing a 9 KW portable unit that ran my whole house except for the Hot Tub and central AC. The new Generac runs the whole house with power left over. I just wish that it would come with a voltmeter. It was easy to assemble and runs great.

Just put 50 straight hours on the generator with no problems. Did a fantastic job.

This generator GP 17500 ran for 50 hours solid during a blizzard and never even stuttered. Did a wonderful job of supplying electricity to a whole house. Wife even ironed and used electric stove and oven. Just feed it gas and it will get-er done.

Good planning will bring a good installation experience

We had three installation quotes and they were all very different configurations. Not many installers know the large portable set up. took longer than anticipated, and research. Once we reviewed the steps it was very easy. Moving to desired location also took planning as this is 450lbs. Good idea to have a battery charger on hand, we needed to charge the battery.

Standby capacity in a portable unit

We purchased this unit as a whole house generator for those extended outage periods, usually 1-2 per year. Since we do not use gas (propane or LNG), we did not want to install a standby unit on a concrete pad and find a place to hide a couple large tanks. At about half the price including a transfer switch, this unit will power our entire house and we can still store it in the garage or bring it to a family members house in emergency.
